Dr. Manuel H Hernandez, MD

Dr. Hernandez treated pre-cancer problems on my head and I found him to be professional and helpful. He instructed me to call should anything concerning come up before my next appointment so when I became concerned about seeping sores on my head that won't seem to heal I called his office. The receptionist told me I could get an appointment in six days or I could go see my family doctor. Her reaction seems at odds with the Doctor's assurance that that he's available to deal with my concerns as a patient. The receptionist's demeanor was one of complete disregard for my concern and she seemed to not care at all when I indicated that I would have to find another dermatologist. I'm very, very disappointed.

Not impressed with this doctor at all. He's not comfortable enough with himself to allow a critical thinking patient to have an objective discussion with him. I challenged conventional thinking, contradictory medical cancer studies and he took it personal. In fact he was so uncomfortable with this patient acknowledging reality that he lost sight of the fact that he runs a "practice" ! So uncomfortable, insecure and threatened that he suggested I go elsewhere...... so I did. Not sure if that's grounds for a complaint With the Florida bord of medicine but I'll find out. My health is my responsibility and I have a right and a obligation to question contradicting advice. I don't care what kind of degree you hold. So I guess if you're the type of person that sits down -shuts up and takes orders, he may be your guy. However, if you like to ask educated questions with reasonable expectations of getting answers, anecdotal may they be, this likely isn't your guy. I'm a cash… paying patient so prior to my appointment I asked for the cost and was quoted $130, subsequently charged over $180. Perhaps asking questions with the doctor is extra? Just an observation on my part. I noticed the last 2 Google reviews sound suspiciously similar almost robotic. Including addressing comments that don't exist. Paid reviews? I can assure you this is a real review

Outstanding bedside manner! MD and staff are meticulously conscientious about infection control! Just the best!

The doctors staff is who I really enjoy. I only gave one star for the doctor.....but wish I could rate the staff a 10+, they are what makes the doctor.

I've been a patient of Dr. Hernandez for 5 years and find him to be thorough, skillful and kind. He always explains procedures and outcomes and leaves me unscarred. His staff like and respect him and I have recommended him to my friends and to my family members.
