Dr. Maoxing Shen, MD

My chart was distributed to Dr. Shen when my primary doctor passed away. At first he seemed caring but then I was diagnosed with pancreatitis at an ER and hospitalized, that all dissipated. During the follow up appointment, I told Dr. Shen that I felt better after the hospital stay but then after 2 weeks, my pain is returning. He told me, "Pancreatitis does not cause pain, it only causes pain when you have pancreatitic cancer and you have one month to live. Go home and you'll feel better." I really didn't know how to respond to his statement because of all the things that are going through my mind. So I went to my car and cried. What made it worst was, a week after that, I still was in excruciating pain, I called the appointment line to possibly see a different doctor, they sent me right back to him. Obviously I have talked to many doctors, nurses and people who have had pancreatitis and what he said was far from the truth. Needless to say, I feel absolutely ignored and I'm… sure he might even be a nice person outside of the office but I would rather die than see him again professionally.

Dr. Shen is one of the worst doctors ever. He makes patients feel terribly guilty leaving the office crying because he shames them. He allows personal emotions to interfere with his work, and threatens to cut off medication ASAP EVEN when you should be tapered off it. Terrible doctor - he needs to leave the clinic.

Spends a good amount of time with you, good bedside manner. Makes me feel as comfortable as can be expected at the doctor's office.

Dr. Shen is wonderful. We met him when my husband was very sick. I've never had a more carring, professional doctor who cared about us like Dr. Shen does. He always returns our calls and calls us in between appointments to see how we are doing. He is tireless in love of his patients and his practice.

I have never had a more caring, doctor with excellent insight and foresight for managing my health care. He makes you feel like you are the only patient he has. His manner is never rushed; he truly listens to his patients. A wonderful human being!
