Dr. Marah Clare Hehemann

Dr. Marah Hehemann and Dr. Nguyen are professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. From my initial consultation through surgery and recovery, I felt informed, respected, and well cared for. They took the time to answer questions thoroughly, explain treatment options clearly, and set realistic expectations throughout the process. What stood out most was the combination of technical expertise and genuine compassion. Their entire team was responsive, professional, and supportive, even when questions arose during recovery. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hehemann, Dr. Nguyen, and the UW Men's Health Center team to anyone seeking specialized urologic care. I am grateful for the excellent treatment and attention I received.

My Grandfather and father died from prostate cancer. I told Dr. Marah Hehemann my friends were on a more frequent schedule of testing than she was offering and given my significant family history, I would like more frequent testing for my peace of mind. She immediately became hostile and condescending, telling me she “does not offer concierge medical services”. I further explained my medical history of cancer and in a condescending tone again, she offered to do a rectal exam. I reiterated the ongoing testing I was hoping for and why, with the addition of my medical and family history she apparently had not reviewed. She again reiterated in her condescending and more aggressive tone that she does not offer concierge medical services. I told her I didn’t appreciate her talking to me with that tone of voice and I asked to speak with the clinic Director. I spoke with the director and explained to him the situation. In her after visit summary, Dr. Marah Hehemann, states “The… patient became increasingly confrontational and I felt it was in my best interest for maintaining safety, that I exit the room.” That is a misrepresentation of the facts. I asked her to stop speaking to me in that tone of voice and that I would like to speak with the clinic director. Dr. Marah Hehemann, MD is aggressive, not comprehensive in her preparation for a new patient and I’m concerned about how I was treated, her misrepresentations in medical records, but mostly concerned that she has the lives and livelihoods of men at her disposal. I’ve never been treated like this, by any doctor in my 51 years of life.
