Dr. Marc Jason Davison, MD

Dr. Davison has saved, and extended, my life at least three times now. Cancer is a terrible diagnosis, but having a doctor who truly cares, a doctor who is honest and a doctor who is truly excellent makes all the difference. Dr. Davison is that doctor. He is so incredibly funny and lighthearted to talk to, but also completely honest and straightforward when talking about disease or procedures. He gets right to the point and doesn't dance around issues (something I greatly appreciate about him). He prepares you for his preferred plan of action, but also let's you know he will use his skills, judgment & expertise once he gets in there to fully assess and address everything. He found tumors in me that didn't even show on my CT! He truly cares about his patients and goes the extra mile to make sure they receive the best care. He has always made time and fit me in for any important needs, called & followed up on weekends and days off and made himself easily accessible for any questions.… On multiple occasions he's even taken the time to stop by my room to say hi & see that I'm doing well and being taken care of when I've been in the hospital for unrelated issues. I am so fortunate to have had my life in such skilled & caring hands each time I've needed to go under the knife. My disease is very aggressive, but he has battled along side me and I'm so grateful for that! The time he's afforded me with my family is a gift I cherish - I am forever grateful for him!

I needed surgery for lung cancer, which was terrifying. After seeing Dr. Davison for my pre-op I felt so much better. He is comical, calm and caring, and made me feel like everything would be just fine. And it was. The surgery went well, and the recuperation was much easier than I thought it would be. He is a great surgeon, and did a wonderful job.

I’m 39 years old and have been battling an esophageal issue since 2008. I first encountered Dr. Davison back in 2012 when he performed his first surgery on my esophagus. He made me feel at ease and was always very personable with me. Fast forward to Dec. 2020, my esophagus got the best of me and I found myself in the ICU following a severe esophageal tear. Once Dr. Davison came back from paternity leave and found out I needed surgery, he didn’t waste any time and without hesitation, I felt like me made my case a priority. He made it a point to call my wife daily with updates and always made himself readily available to her if she had any questions or concerns (as a critical care nurse, she had a lot of questions). After discharge he called me regularly to check up and make sure my wife didn’t have any issues with continuing my care from home. When issues arose, he listened to her concerns and addresses them immediately. I always knew I was in good hands and appreciated his constant… encouragement when I felt like giving up hope. He’s truly a one of a kind surgeon and I wholeheartedly believe I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for him.

I am a 47 year old male in good health and very active. I had one of those "little" falls where the landing was freakish. I fell about 4 feet but ended up with a scratched spleen, 2 broken ribs and a lung contusion. After trying to drain the blood for a few days with 2 drain tubes simultaneously, the PA informed me that I would need a Thoracic surgeon, but that he was unavailable for the week. She did not say why, and I did not ask. Later the next day, the PA said she had run into him in the hall and told him about my situation. He told her he would swing by and talk with me the following day. Meanwhile, while talking to a nurse who was a friend of the Dr., I found out that the reason he was not on site was because he was on paternity leave with his first child! He came by like he promised, looked over my case, and said that he would do it the next day, which was Sunday. It blew my mind that he would take time off of his paternity leave to come do my surgery. He understood that… I was active and wanted to get back to normal life. I had been in ICU for 4 days by that point. He did an excellent job on the surgery. Dr. Davison was very informative and knowledgable. He took the time to answer every question I had. I was up the next day feeling great and left the ICU the day after that. I cannot thank him enough for his generosity and expertise. Dr. Davison has a heat of gold!

Having lung cancer is awful but I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor as far as his wonderful personality, attitude, and years of experience . He holds nothing back. He is honest to the point but also very sincere and caring . He made me feel like I wasn’t just another patient when you’re sick your attitude makes a huge difference so he made a huge difference. I am 80 and Dr. Davison recently performed esophageal cancer surgery on me - a difficult procedure. The surgical results were outstanding, no complications, and I am recovering within normal protocols for the procedure. All indications are that I have been given a lifespan extension. It was a difficult surgical decision to make at my age, and Dr. Davison explained all of the treatment options, and concurrent risks, both candidly and forthrightly. His surgical skills and record are impressive, and he interacts and cares for his patients in a professional, and free spirited manner. If need be, I would again place my life in his skilled hands without hesitation.

Dr. Davidson is top-notch. He gave us a lot of support and confidence in a critical time for our family. We appreciate him very much. He is a doctor that we were able to confide in. Dr. Davidson's patience & expertise was portrayed over and over again. He listened to all of our concerns and his support was important for our family. We trust Dr. Davidson and are grateful we could count on him to do what he does best! Thank God he was put on our path to operate on our matriarch.

Dr Davidson is an amazing doctor. He was my surgeon for a chest tube and pleurodesis. Dr Davidson went above and beyond in explaining the surgery to my family and I. He was able to calm any nerves. He truly cares about his patients. Additionally, he has a great ability to keep things light with his sense of humor. I can not recommend him enough.

All aspects of my care provided by Dr Davidson were exceptional in all respects from consultation, surgical expertise, post op treatment and genuine concern about my condition. He is the finest physician I have had the priviledge to know in both my personal and professional life.
