I have been battling pancolitis for 8 years. I was brought to the ER in severe abdominal pain. I went through my usual tests and labs and an x-ray of my abdomen. Within 20 mins I saw Dr. Garfinckel. He set up my surgery for intussusception. His bedside manner is phenomenal! As a general rule, most surgeons usually only care about the body in front of them, not him! He generally cares. After my husband first appointment with Dr. Garfinkel, we knew he would be in great hands for his surgery. Dr. Garfinkel took his time to explain the entire process of the kidney transplant. He was extremely thorough when it came to assessing whether he was a good candidate for a transplant. He didn’t leave a stone unturned with respect to blood tests, scans, xrays, stress tests etc... before considering him a good candidate. His entire transplant team is remarkable. There was always someone available to answer questions.

Poor communication after surgery on my husband at Memorial. Said he was coming up to talk to me I waited 40 minutes and they paged him and he said he would be here in 7 minutes tovtalk to me...that was 1 hour ago. I'm not impressed, he could have just talked to me on thw phone. I know Dr.'s are busy but this is uncalled for.
