Dr. Marc Helzer, MD

I have been using Metro Health Rockford for over 15 years. My original doctor left, and Dr. Helzer took over his patients. I wouldn’t recommend any other doctor besides him & my last doctor. He is kind, efficient, gets to the point. He doesn’t order unnecessary testing, & from what other people have said, he is NOT dismissive, by any means. He remembershh his patients, asks about your every day life, and even remembers details (if you give them) that are personal to you, & ONLY you, have told him in the past visits. He actually cares, & wants you to be healthy! Not only physically, mentally, but also emotionally. I even lived 2 1/2 hours away at one point & still wouldn’t switch doctors, because he is so trustworthy. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my healthcare. My father even drives 3 hours just to see him as a PCP, & has been seeing him for years also. It’s hard to put trust into a PCP when you feel like you’re not getting results, but he is the doctor I have trusted with my life.

A year ago I was very satisfied and thought Dr Helzer was wonderful. The last three times with him was like, “why did I bother coming to you. You spent 5 minutes at most with me.” I find this so unacceptable. Just so ignores my complaints about my health. I do have a med check coming up very soon. After this visit, I will try my best to get into Spectrum. Your service has gone WAY downhill.

Wonderful ,great bedside manner,he really cares about his patients,is willing to listen to everything you need to ask him,I never feel rushed at my appt,really intelligent,but talks to you on your level,so you understand what he’s telling you , I couldn’t be happier with a doctor, nurse staff are great,Danielle at front desk the best

In today's world kudos to a staff that care about its patients.

He cares about his clients, he does what is best for you and not running unnecessary test just to run up the bill. He has the skill to deterkine what is wrong and he fixes you the first time!

The man. Dr Helzer is a genious. Adanced diagnostics are his specialty. Keeps me healthy without drugs. Very bright. Very thorough. Discivered my thyroid problem. Put me on testoserone and I feel great. I would drive anywhere to remain his patient

A very caring and professional doctor. He always appeared to put me first and never acted rushed or as though he had better things to do. Dr. Helzer has great bedside manner and answered all of my questions patiently. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

I found myself in a crisis one Friday, having run out of a critical medication. Because I could not get past my primary care physician's Watch Dogs in the front office, I sought out someone else, and was fortunate enough to find Dr. Helzer. I was so impressed at how approachable he is, his willingness to listen, offer suggestions, consider my thoughts and concerns, that I have switched my care to him. Sadly, I liked my prior physician of 10 years but her office staff became to snotty to endure! To date, I find Dr. Helzer and his office staff just delightful.

Dr. Helzer is the best general practitioner I have ever had. He is very realistic, pragmatic and focused on what is important to his patients. The clinic itself is great also and my wife now sees a doctor in the same office.
