Great doc! Helped me with my sleep problems and nightmares. He was so thorough when we first met and seemed to really get at my issues. He’s helped me out a lot and I’m forever grateful.

I have severe mania driven insomnia, and this doctor pulled me off my meds and told me if I can't sleep to sit in a dark room for two hours and twiddle my thumbs before going to bed. A doctor once told me to stay away from VA psychiatrists-they will only make you worse. He said the worst psychiatrists either work for the state hospital the prison system or the VA. This doctor and other VA doctors will also make you split pills that are not designed to be split-will always split unevenly-resulting in an increase of symptoms. NO WONDER OVER 20 VETERANS COMMIT SUICIDE EVERY DAY!

As reported on CNN, the VA has been ordered to misdiagnose as many veterans as possible as having personality disorders instead of psychiatric disorders to save on disability costs. This doctor tried pulling that on me. He changed my decades long diagnosis, refused to listen to my symptoms and refused to even look at my records or diagnosis from an outside psychiatrist. I have lost 50 pounds and have nightmares about this doctor after the way he treated me. Now I will go after his license, as this is the only way to hold these corrupt VA doctors accountable. Stay away from this doctor at all costs!

Dr. Ishizuka seemed to be not very knowledgeable, and seemed quite arrogant - do not recommend.
