Dr. Marc Allan Jacobs, MD

I've used Dr. Jacobs and his P.A. Theresa Weir for two years. In that time he has listened to my lungs and done two ex-rays. Before a recent trip to London I developed a bad lung infection, I saw Theresa Weir, P.A. initially, who put me on Prednisone and an antibiotic. In the week before I left for my trip I saw Dr. Jacobs and Mrs. Weir and then another P.A. Ross Van Norman (due to my concerns about not getting better.) I was continued on Prednisone, a nasal decongestant, an antibiotic and a nasal antibiotic. No testing other than listening to my lungs and asking me questions was done. The day after arrival in London I had such trouble taking a breath that I ended up in the Emergency Room of the St. Anne's Hospital, there they did a CTPA which showed an exacerbation of the infection, blood work was done also. I would have/should have expected to have had these tests done by Dr. Jacobs or his collogues. As predicted by the St. Anne's doctor I started breathing better, feeling better… just before I left to come home to Portland. I will seek another doctor, one who is more assertive in his or her treatment.

I first saw doctor Jacobs in the intensive care setting. I had influenza type a and was on a ventilator for 8 days. All I remember from that time was a business card on my bedside table from the Oregon clinic and when I was released decided to call and follow up. Doctor Jacobs is thourough, caring, and listens to the patient. He is wonderful
