Dr. Marc Lippas
Dr. Marc Lippas received his DDS degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas Texas in 1986. He has been in private practice ever since with his wife Dr. Katie. Dr. Marc's special interest in oral implantology started soon after beginning his practice. In 1989 he completed a special course in oral implantology given at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine which at the time allowed him, a non-specialist to purchase and place the Swedish dental implant system created by Dr. Per Ingvar Branemark, a privilege only granted to periodonists and oral surgeons at that time.
Continued study in the field of oral implantology brought Dr. Lippas to an Associate Fellow status in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the only organization in the country that grants credentials to its members based on oral and written examination.

Dr. Lippas graduated from St. Mark's School of Texas in 1973. His love affair with the sciences began at the age of sixteen when he was a volunteer in hematology laboratories at the Southwestern Medical School in Dallas Texas. Here he learned how to isolate enzymes from human blood and yeasts that were used in research testing, During his college days he also worked harvesting bone specimens in the department of Orthopedics and assisted the physicians of the department in studying the integration of solid hydroxyapatite implants into the bone of small mammals by assisting in this surgery and performing the preparation of histopathologic samples of the same.
During collegiate graduate school Dr. Lippas published his thesis on the topic of parasitic diseases of the eye, helping to uncover the reason people go blind in the third world in the tertiary stages of sleeping sickness, a problem in the field of Immunology . He also was a teaching assistant in basic immunology during his graduate work at Southern Methodist University. Dr Lippas earned his undergraduate degrees, a BA in History and a BS in Biology from Southern Methodist University in 1977 followed by a MS degree in Biology in 1979
In Dental School with his wife Katie in the early 1980's, they jointly presented some of the first Electron Micrograph studies of laser irradiation of tooth structure. In the early 1990's, Dr. Lippas was co-author of seven articles dealing with the laser irradiation of tooth structure, and was published in such journals as the Journal of the American Dental Association, and the British Journal of Dentistry.
At the turn of the present century, both Dr. Katie and Dr. Marc held live surgical seminars at their Dallas office using the Laminoss Immediate load implant system. This type of implant facilitates the immediate use of dental prosthetics. Other types of conventional implants are placed at their office, their use being patient specific.
Dr. Marc has lectured on the medical and physical suitability and contraindications for dental implants at the Stomatological Institute and Hospital in Chengdu China, and has diagnosed cases with Chinese Colleagues at the Beijing Hospital of Stomatology as a member of the Global Committee of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
