Dr. Marc Alfred Pohl, MD

It wasn't util I returned home that I received a three page letter from two long term CC patients who witnessed the verbal abuse of Dr. Pohl who had me in tears and filed a written complaint to seven divisions of the hospital from transplant to spiritual: I had not seen Dr. Pohl but for a few minutes (something must have been happening with him before my appointment). Upon entering his office he was for reasons I will never know, unhinged) He was externalized and very angry. Frightening. The other CC doctors are not like him. I was in tears, trembling on a walker. The couple who intervened were outraged and took me to the Ombudsmans office to start fresh with a new doctor. I then checked into CC hotel to rest. The following morning very early Dr Pohl was at the hotel and very inappropriately asked to me to meet him in the lobby. Why not at an office? This was both creepy and scary. I felt I had no choice as I was on his campus. He told he could came because he could "Sniff out… patients who will go to the Ombudsmen" and "he was going to stop me" and asked me "if I had underwear on under my clothes." I was more scared. I told him I didn't go to the Ombudsman-- that the couple took me there after they witnessed his behavior. I did not know what to say about my underwear other than that I aways wear underwear. He went on to say, "You want a cure, I want a $200,000 car- neither of us is getting what we want!" and laughed. I was terrified of is lack of professionalism and his horrid and callus disregard for my life. He told me to leave the campus and go home despite the enormous cost of my health flying to the hospital and financial costs. I was alone and scared and he knew this. What kind of doctor does this to a sick, fragile patient who has no change of recovering? I hired a private agency to be with me until I left the CC for my protection. I am very grateful to the couple who stepped up and showed their moral compass when Dr Pohl lost his ethics. I am also grateful to the private agency who helped me feel safe when the CC was unsafe.
