Title "avoid Dr.Rosenthal if at all possible - I do believe he is dangerous to your health as well as rude and, well, I'll try and be polite rather than more accurate and leave it at that - you decide after you read this and the other comments. I am glad that some patients did have good results. I suspect that is because he is listed as "head and neck surgery" and that's not usually the kind of MD one goes to with just deafness as the complaint.....but that's just a guess. Surgeon's generally just like to do surgery and not spend time with patients on what is rarely a surgical disease (or so most non surgeons believe among all the hundreds of doctor's I've known and worked with). I saw "dr" Rosenthal today. He said you have "meniere's disease." And of course I had to have more tests. I myself am a retired physician (not ENT). I was shocked and upset by the diagnosis as I've never had the at least 2 episodes of vertigo lasting at least 20 minutes, (I have had "benign… positional vertigo" but not for at least 10 years and then it was only when I'd turn over in bed and I'd feel dizzy if I did it in just one particular way and it would resolve the instant I stopped moving), he told me to decrease my salt (without even finding out that because of a past history of hypertension I'm on a NO salt diet (eat only fresh vegetables and fruit and fish and nothing ever packaged or in cans...). It was pretty clear he didn't believe me. I have a central (brain) problem with sleep - my brain doesn't always tell my lungs to breathe so I need to use BIPAP (it's not CPAP and there is not snoring or anatomical obstruction) but even with this, I suffer seriously from "excessive daytime sleepiness" and I NEED those two cups of coffee when I get up or I can't even drive safely (will fall asleep while driving!). The coffee also reduced my migraines and so I need much less "maxalt" - not the safest drug for a type 2 diabetic who just turned 69. The migraine reduction is about 70% and I've been tested fairly intensively to make sure I'm not suffering from maxalt withdrawal headaches NOT from caffeine withdrawal headaches. He simply said "you have Meniere's disease and when I started to ask questions, he would interrupt me each time and not answer the question. He left the room (after less than 4 minutes - I timed it on my DEXCOM) while I was asking where he'd studied and walked out the door as he asked me "for what" - I asked college, etc....and he walked all the way down hall while saying the college and medical school and some training after that (which turned out to be where I'd been to medical school) - so not only was he incredibly rude - he was walking away from a hearing impaired patient while talking - and was NOT wearing a MASK! (if he'd been facing me I could have heard him better by reading his lips but I'd rather he'd had a mask on) I tried to ask him if I needed to stop the caffeine (that was advised with the low salt diet....) but he just kept walking, I sent one of the nurses to ask if I had to stop right away - and the answer came back "if you want to keep hearing"....and since I've been home from the visit, I've checked the web - and while every one recommends the decrease in caffeine, there is NO study anywhere that shows that doing this helps the hearing issue in Meniere's - and that's my only complaint! It can help the tinnitus and vertigo possibly but no evidence that it has any effect of hearing. And he never checked as to my other medical problems that show my need for the caffeine (as a drug) - and any substitute for the coffee (the drugs to help with the excessive daytime sleep disorder and the migraines) are far more dangerous with my other medical problems. He is rude, he is not nearly as good looking as he thinks he is, and he really doesn't seem to know much of anything about Meniere's. (other than there are three kinds so he said). My recommendation as a patient and a (retired) rheumatologist and internist is that you don't waste your time or your money or most importantly, risk your health,buy seeing this man. The staff, at least today (where he now works) was absolutely delightful! (I mention them as they were so good and others - I gather at a previous facility perhaps were not so fine for other patients. I give him one star only because it doesn't seem possible in this software to give him negative stars - and I'd give him a minus 10 stars.

I had a surgery done by Dr. Rosenthal last week on my sinuses and im still experiencing the same problems. It was never explained to me exactly what he did besides give me a bloody nose and a huge bill.

I REALLY liked doc’s professionalism and ability to address my medical issues. His staff charged me for an in office test that was not performed. They would not back down. They Falsified notes (“patient tolerated the procedure” of course. I never HAD the procedure!). Beware of inflated bills and fraud. I fought it until They gave it to a collection agency. I gave up and paid it.

Dr. Rosenthal is one of the best ENT doctors I have ever experienced. I had to get nasal surgery to remove some bone for a breathing problem and now I can’t breath normally and he was get at my post op check ups!

Saw Rosenthal for a throat problem I'd had for many weeks. He dismissed me saying go home and gargle with salt water. I am a senior and had driven from 25 miles, and co-paid $45 to see him. A few weeks later I had to pay another $45 to see an excellent ENT at Dr. Sussman's office. He took a swab of my throat and the culture revealed I had Klabsiella pneumonia. Had Rosenthal bothered to take a culture he would have discovered this. Left untreated it could have turned into pneumonia! Nobody would return by calls at Maui Medical Group to complain....nobody!

Dr Rosenthal was prompt with my appointment. He explained my medical condition in great detail and recommended surgery. My incision is almost invisible and I had a great experience with his office. I saw his PA, Mandy after my surgery and she was very knowledgeable and helpful as well. I highly recommend this office for any ENT needs

I TRIED TI MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DR ROSENTHAL AND WHO EVER WAS ON THE PHONE TO BOOK HIM WOULD NOT GIVE ME HER NAME. SHE WAS RUDE AND REPEATED HERSELF OVER AND OVE IN A REALLY NAST VOICE THAT I NEEDED A REFERRAL 1ST, SHE WOULD NOT GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION ON THE DOCTOR AND IF HE EVEN WAS ABLE TO DO WHAT I NEEDED. SHE SAID SHE WOLS HANG UP IF I ASKED HER ANY MORE QUESTIONS, THE SERVICE OF DOCTORS OFFICES ARE BECOMING WORSE. DEFINATLY REFLECTS ON THIS DOCTOR WHO I WILL NEVER PAY TO SEE.

The office staff is rude and talks backs to clients adn lets them know that they did not hear them correctly.

Do not go. Long story but my wife is possibly deaf now due to his poor treatment. Horrible nightmare experience.
