Dr. Marc R Sanders, MD

As a 31 year career independent insurance agent, I heard good things over the years about Dr Marc Sanders and scheduled a cataract consultation after devwith the multifocal lenses and laser surgery, which was an extra $7500 total minimum to include both eyes, not covered by insurance to include an extra $1000 by the outpatient facility. I was told by Jamie on Dr Sander's staff the outpatient facility might charge more. I was given two options by Dr Sanders, but would have like to have been given a third option, which is the way I'm likely to go with my new doctor. Option 1 - Have cataract surgery in my previously operated left eye and place a lens to match my right eye at -3, and not perform surgery on rt eye. This didn't make sense to me, as while I was told by Jamie the insurer might not cover the right eye, this option would leave me with my left eye that matched my blurry right eye. Option 2- Spend $7500 for the multifocal lens on both eyes so I might not have to wear… glasses again, except maybe to read. (I told Dr Sanders I have been wearing glasses for 40 years and didn't mind glasses at all. He told me a lot of folks like the freedom without glasses. I told him glasses were fine by me, but he still recommended the multifocal lenses.) I would have appreciated Dr Sanders give me a third option, which I came up with on my own, which is to go with the Standard Intraocular lens (IOL) in both eyes. When I brought this up to Dr Sander's staff member Jamie she said they didn't recommend that because the insurer might not cover the second eye. But if that's the case, why did Dr Sanders recommend the mutifocal lens in the first place, as that option was presented to include surgery on both eyes as well. Unless I misunderstood the initial options presented by Dr Sanders, I don't understand why I wasn't given option 3. If I misunderstood the two initial options presented, the communication by Jamie was poor, as I gave her many chances to clarify. Upon leaving follow up questions via email to Dr Sanders following my consult, Jamie called me back the next day but was short and evasive with her answers. I've been coming here for a few years for glasses and recently learned that I was a good candidate for LASIK. Since I hated my glasses and never got used to them, this seemed like a great alternative. Dr. Sanders did my LASIK yesterday. Totally painless and fast, and I'm already seeing great results. I would recommend Diagnostic Eye Center without hesitation to anyone considering LASIK or for general eye care. They are awesome and will take great care of you.

Dr. Sanders was so friendly that it made me very comfortable with the surgery. He was informative about what he was doing and let me know that I would be fine. There was no problem and my eyes are doing good. I'm just amazed at what was done and how well I can see already. He truly is the best! Take my word! Thank you Dr. Sanders and all that helped!

I don't usually write reviews for doctors because I'm never extremely impressed, but Dr. Sanders is everything you could want for a doctor. I was able to get an eye appointment the next day and did not have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. I went in with a stye that I had had for over a month. He gave me the options and performed the drainage that day without any hassle at all! It was so nice to go to the doctor and get relief that day. The procedure was quick and pain free. I only wish I would have got to him sooner instead of being in pain for a month. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Sanders and his staff were excellent. The office is very efficient and Dr. Sanders was very professional. I'm new to Houston and lucked out when I choose him.
