Dr. Marc Evan Sher, MD

One star is too many for Dr. Marc Sher, given my first-hand experience in being left to rot by this doctor after an aborted surgery with zero follow-through. Dr. Sher does not have the patient's back, or bother addressing problems patients have in obtaining their preop. The practice's surgical liaison Pam is extremely rude and unprofessional, does not respect or wish to accommodate persons with disabilities, and offers virtually no assistance once a patient is directed to a hospital for their procedure. In fact, she has no problem hanging up on patients who call the office for help. I was mocked, stigmatized and discriminated against for being an older patient with special needs--and insulted for having the very condition for which I had gone to Sher to obtain surgery--while Dr. Sher failed to provide any advocacy, follow-up or assistance. Rabid dogs receive better treatment than I did from this practice! My already severe medical condition has worsened as a result!

Dr. Sher is an outstanding surgeon. He is very professional and totally committed to his patients. He returns call promptly and sees his patients on time. His office staff are very friendly and professional as well! His ratings on checkbook.org are excellent which is why I selected him for my gall bladder surgery. My surgery was performed at LIJ which I also highly recommend.

Dr. Cher is someone that I will NEVER forget. For years I suffered while I saw other doctors who could not help me; seven years to be exact. Dr. Cher was so sweet, kind and knowledgeable. I was skeptical as no other doctors could help me with my issue but he promised that things would get better. He answered all of my questions, eased all of my concerns and within a few weeks of my surgery, I was feeling incredibly normal. Thank you Dr. Cher, it’s been 8 years since you healed me and I still think of you from time to time. Please don’t hesitate to visit him if you’re in pain and you’re not sure whom to visit with :)

The Doctor was compassionate and took the time to help my mother. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. His team was attentive and caring. It's a family practice and the level of care we experienced was very high. We are pleased with the level of professionalism and attention from his wife and the staff. The office facility was also very nice.

Great Surgeon, fully understands the issues involved with post surgery. Did a great job on an extensive and difficult hernia. One of the nicest doctors I've ever worked with, and I have personal experience with many top doctors including those performing major surgery who were also generally terrific.
