Dr. Marc Y Waki, DDS

I needed to have oral surgery to remove a small benign mass up near my roots. I told him to use plenty of novocaine. It was too expensive for general anesthesia, so I was fine with the novocaine. It went very well. Dr. Waki called me that evening at home to make sure I was OK after the procedure. I thought that was really considerate! I highly recommend him!

Twice in the last two weeks I've had poor experiences with Dr. Waki and his office. When I went for my last cleaning in Dr. Waki's office, I was told one of my wisdom teeth was damaged and would eventually need to be extracted. Dr. Waki instructed me to make an appointment when I couldn't take the pain any longer. When that day came a few months later, the office said I needed to come in for a consultation first. 2 weeks after that call, Dr. Waki saw me (30 minutes late on an 8:30 appointment!), and offered to perform the extraction on the spot. But since the office had told me I needed to have a consultation first, I had not made arrangements to take the entire day off from work to recover. So we made an appointment for the following week to schedule the extraction. In advance of that appointment, I called Dr. Waki's office to ask about the recovery. I had travel plans a few days afterwards and didn't want to have to worry about post-extraction care. The office insisted… that I would be back to normal and could eat regularly in a couple of days. When I arrived for the extraction, Dr. Waki told me I wouldn't be able to eat normally for a week. This was precisely what I was hoping to avoid when I called in advance to ensure I could travel without worry. So I left, without going through the extraction. Now I'm going on about a month since the pain became acute and will have to continue coping with the pain while I'm on the road. Needless to say, I won't be returning to Dr. Waki or his uninformed, deceptive staff. I'm glad so many people have had positive experiences with this office, but my experience has been really frustrating and time-wasting. I wish people were just honest with me.
