Dr. Marci Rae Bultemeier, DO

I have been a patient of Dr. Bultemeier for almost twenty years. I have never felt rushed! She patiently listens. She answers question I might have. I have complete confidence in her care and direction.

Find another doctor. Seriously. I’ve been seeing her for about 10 years and on average only need to go in for my annual physical. I’ve noticed she’s seemed more rushed or stressed over the last few years and I gave her a pass because of COVID I figured all healthcare providers were stressed. This year when I went in for my annual physical (I am pretty healthy) she actually MADE ME CRY within minutes of the start of my appt. I just had some general concerns, nothing big and wanted some general guidance about starting perimenopause. Again, nothing out of the ordinary, but she was so dismissive and rude! She actually said at one point, “just pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get through it just like every other woman!” I was so taken aback by her rudeness I started to cry then she kept pushing. I said I was just hoping for a little guidance like a book suggestion, and maybe a little kindness. She then sarcastically grabbed my hands and said, “oh what do you want me to do hold your… hand??!! I am an INTERNIST I deal with really sick people, you’re just going through menopause. Get over it.” I don’t know if she’s going through something personally herself, but there’s no excuse. ESPECIALLY from a female doctor. She told me if I wanted someone kinder I should find another doctor. I will and so should you.

Dr. Bultemeier is an excellent Internist! I’m also a physician practicing in northern Michigan. I chose her as our family doctor because she is honest, knowledgeable, and reasonable. She’s a wonderful doctor and person!

She yelled at me! I found another doctor.

Do not use the Portal to answer the questionnaire before a visit or ask questions. You will be charged for an additional visit. I was charged over $80 at my annual visit because answering the questionnaire led to information gathering that was not considered "preventative" care, so it was not covered at all by my insurance. I advise you to find another doctor.

I have been under Dr. Bultemeier's care for several years. She has always provided great care. She spends an unlimited amount of time and never appears rushed. She is very attentive and is genuinely interested in my health and wellbeing. She always responds quickly to calls and it is easy to get an urgent appointment when necessary. The staff is also always very courteous. I highly recommend Dr. Bultemeier!

I agree that dr Bultiemere is rude, abrupt, and didn't spend over 6minutes with me during past physicals. I am a easy to get along with person but she acted like she didn't like me, said I was fat, etc. I have found a different physician.

I agree with an earlier review, Dr. B used to take time and concern. I have found another Dr. who takes time, is not testy and calls back when I call the office.

Tried other offices that were more conveniently located in the past but ALWAYS returned to Dr B. LOVE her and her team.

I have NEVER had a worse experience with a Dr. The most abusive interaction that I have ever experienced with anyone let alone a Dr. I would advise you to run fast and far. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that she is out of business someday. I cannot be the only person that receives this type of treatment. If I could give her a zero rating I would.
