Dr. Marcia Denise Carney, MD

My eye care by Doctor Carney was my greatest experience. I was saddened that she left university of Maryland. For reasons already outlined regarding the facility, I have had to seek treatment elsewhere. Their current methods of care simply are not up to standard.

Wait times consist of check-in which takes as long as 30-40 minutes (unable to control with front desk, should be 8-10 minutes), technician work-up 30 minutes when I initially started 2 years ago and reduced with Quality Assurance and Improvement project to 15 minutes, dilation 15 minutes, and to see the doctor on average 10-15 minutes, testing 1 hour by technicians with wait times of 1 hour for testing (should be 10 minutes), and then final assessment by MD 7-10 minutes with treatment. The physician only has control over the proper diagnosis and treatment. All else is controlled by University of Maryland technician staff. I have not been informed of any incorrect diagnoses by patients and patients say that I as a physician, am a good listener and good diagnostitian. (Helps to make the correct diagnosis). rude and impatient

I have been a patient of Dr. Carney's for about 15 years. She was the only doctor that was able to diagnose my condition and has been a blessing to me. I have traveled to Hampton, Richmond and Virginia Beach to see Dr. Carney and will continue to do so for as long as she's practicing. She is caring, knowledgeable and professional in the care she delivers. I highly recommend Dr. Carney to my family and friends.
