Dr. Marcia Lynn Franklin, MD

Many people have commented that the wait is long for an appointment. My husband jokes if I have a morning appointment that "I'll see you tonight for dinner." I, like others, would prefer to be seen within 15 minutes of my arrival but it just doesn't happen. She is worth the wait, bring a book, write out your Christmas gift list, plan a trip, and know she will give you the time you need, the coordination of care that is necessary to get your problem solved, a review of the literature regarding treatment options and new meds that might help, etc, etc. She is a doc of old who doesn't just go by the 15 minutes that an appointment should take. She gives you the time you need and she is VERY clinically competent. She is worth it! If you need to see a doc who runs on time then she is not a good choice for you. But if you want someone who thoughtfully considers your issues, will talk with all specialists that are involved, follow up with you so that nothing is overlooked, she is a great… choice!

Wait time is ALWAYS too long, over an hour most visits.

I found Dr. Franklin through my mother...she had been a patient of hers for many years - following her from Sandwich to Falmouth to Bourne. There are not enough positive words to say about Dr. Franklin. After a morning appt. with my mom's urologist to find out she suddenly had stage 4 bladder cancer (he had changed her from every 6 months to every year appt. even though she had bladder issues most of her life - he all but said - you're old, so it really doesn't matter), her afternoon appt. with Dr. Franklin was amazing. I felt bad for the folks in the waiting room behind us, Dr. Franklin took all the time my mom needed. She called the oncologist and introduce my mom over the phone to him. She also ordered some additional tests - good thing as it turned out it had not spread to the lymph nodes as the urologist thought. 1 1/2 years later there were some complications and mom was in Jordan Hospital - Dr. Franklin called or texted me every evening to go over what the test results… meant even though she was not the attending physician in the hospital. It was comforting to speak with the Dr. who knew her best. Personally, I have been going to Dr. Franklin for a good 10 years...yes, the office wait can be terrible, but they keep trying to tweak her schedule so she can still provide the quality care her patients have come to know, while cutting the waiting time. Try to book the morning appointments - the earlier in the day, the less wait time. I've always found her nurses/assistants to be wonderful and responsive. The front desk folks are o.k. - though they have improved since she moved to Emerald Physicians.

Two and a half hour wait due to overbooking. Rude office staff. Too many meet and greet visits. Dr franklin capable once you get to see her.

I have been a patient for over 20 years in different locations. I may have to wait always but her expertise and concern is always most important to me. Marcia is amazing, Bring a bookð???

Because Dr. Franklin spends all the necessary time to do whatever is needed for her patients, she does seem to run behind and office wait time can be longer than desireable. However, the trade off is well worth it because the attention she gives to the patient's needs and concerns is 200% ! She listens, is very sincere and caring. Her knowledge, expertise and command of research is extraordinary. She is super smart!

I was a patient for over a year and went to Dr. Franklin as had severe hair loss. Her response was, "You know people lose hair everyday." This despite telling her a handful came out in my hand while washing and a bald spot was visible. I left her practice and new primary ran a blood test. It was severe Vitamin D loss. After a few months of 50,000 units/month, I was better. Did not find her competent enough. Good luck to anyone who puts their trust in her.

Arrived at 9:00 am for 9:15 am appointment. Took over an hour to be moved to exam room to see nurse. Was told there were still 4 patients in front of me, expect to wait another hour or two. If your time is valuable, don't waste it here, skip Emerald Physicians and find another practice.

Amazing Doctor. Well worth the wait to see her. Don't know what I would have done without her over the past twenty years. She has helped me get through many illnesses, always knowing I have her to help when things got difficult. She's the best!

Longtime patient. Despite crazy long waiting times, she cares & is worth the wait.
