Dr. Marcia J Pabo, MD

My wife doesn’t realize it yet, but this is the Dr she needed!

29 years ago Marcia Pabo caused the most traumatic experience of my life. Her treatment decisions were shaming, demeaning, and harmful. Even after so many years I continue to experience deep shame and trauma as the result of her care. Within two years of her mis treatment of me she engaged in incompetent care of two acquaintances. Following my experience I was advised by two attorneys and a therapist to pursue legal action for mal practice. Because I did not want to have to relive the trauma through legal proceedings I opted to move on with my life. The trauma I experienced at Dr. Pabos hand has impacted my life in countless ways. While I have managed to overcome the challenges I faced following her treatment and have lived a successful personal and professional life, I am still brought to my knees when memories of her treatment return to me. I am saddened that this woman has continued to provide medical care over the years.

My mother is bipolar and Dr. Pabo can't be bothered to return my mothers calls about prescription refills. My mother has left numerous messages and it's been over a week with no return calls. Totally unacceptable.

I can not possibly thank Dr. Pabo enough for making such a huge impact on my quality of life that is continues in spite of my relocating. I started seeing her years ago when I realized I got more value from abbreviated sessions with her for med check-ins than I was from my standard counselor(s). It took a lot of nerve for me to even ask, but it was such a relief when she agreed to take me on as a regular patient that it made it worth itI would guess she's not an ideal match for everyone, but I can attest that if you are truly serious about addressing problems you might have (or think you might have), there won't have a better person to guide you through the ugly stuff that invariably comes up. She is the first person that I've been intimidated by academically (a HUGE positive for me. But even more impressively, I kept going to her in spite of it bringing up those nasty little inferiority problems I dwell in!) I also realized that I NEEDED someone who is unquestionably brilliant that I… couldn't manipulate. And it had to be someone I felt had either "been there, done that" or has lived virtually in it. A tall order really when one starts looking for legit help...It took me awhile to realize what she had accomplished, but Dr. Pabo helped me create boundaries and establish healthy (re)actions for me to use when confronted with things that I used to react negatively and blindly to.I still have tons of work to do personally but that fact that I am functioning with virtually no support network as a result of my sessions and work with Dr. Pabo... it's simply a testament to her treatment skills. I am desperately hoping that Dr. Pabo will relocate somewhere that makes it easier for me to see her but in the meantime, as I continue to seek someone local to talk to, I still make every attempt to plan her into my visits back to NH.
