Dr. Marco Cerqueirade Araujo, MD

Unfortunately Dr Araujo was only in my area a few short months but he helped me so much. I was devastated to learn he was leaving. Dr Araujo is so caring and has the most wonderful bedside manner that I have ever experienced. He took my hand the first time we met and always spent as much time as I needed and never was impatient or rushed. I only wish I could find a doctor who was even a fraction of the Doctor that Dr Araujo is. I would relocate to keep him if I could! Thank you Dr Araujo, as a pain patient for 15 + years I have met many but no one has helped me as much as you have and no one has made me feel so "not crazy"! If it was all in my head then how did Dr Araujo completely heal the pain between my shoulder blades?

In 2010, at age 40, I had a bladder prolapse while out for my daily run. A small-town urologist fixed the prolapse with something called Transvaginal Mesh. You may have heard of this on TV commercials for lawsuits. Well, I'm one of the 100,000 women who have been disabled by this horrible product. It is a plastic screen that acts like a hammock to hold up prolapsed pelvic organs. What I wasn't told is that more than 15% of women end up with severe, permanent pelvic pain from mesh - and that there were FDA warnings NOT to use this product. The pain this product caused is hard to describe - excruciating doesn't even touch it. A sharp hunk of plastic cutting through your urethra & vagina - with every move, every breath, a giant inflamed splinter cuts through your most sensitive areas. And finding Dr. Araujo was the one bright spot in this whole mess - he believed me, supported me, and said he would help me manage this pain. And he has done just that. Through 7 surgeries to try to remove… the mesh, and 5 years of severe pain & disability, he has been there to help me with the pain management side of things. This pain was literally life-threatening pain, and I considered ending my life because of it - if you knew what a positive, happy person I am, you'd understand how horrific this pain was to make me even consider such a thing. Dr. Araujo and his wonderful staff have treated me like a person, not a drug addict. They're compassionate, caring, and helpful. My ONLY complaint after being a patient here for nearly 5 years is that scheduling med refill appointments is not easy or convenient. I go every 2 months, and it's almost impossible to change an appointment unless I call at least a month ahead of time. Other than that, though, I would highly recommend this doctor, and this clinic, to anyone who needs help managing pain.

By far one of the best Dr. that I've had the pleasure of working with. Great bedside manner. Will take all the time you need to understand what is going to be done and answer all your questions.

I will never forget the first time I saw Dr. Araujo. I was nearly in tears and in so much pain. My family doctor highly recommended Dr Araujo to me and I was hoping he could help me after a failed back surgery. After hearing my previous experiences (which were horrible) and spending a fair amount of time listening to what I had been through, he placed his hand over mine and told me "No one should have to live in that kind of pain, I will do everything I can to help you". He looked me straight in the eye (I had a previous pain Dr that rarely if ever even looked at me) I just knew he was being honest about my options and what he could do to help me. There was some trials to go through, but together we eventually found what is working for me. I still have some bad days, but now I am able to get out of bed and live a more normal life. I really don't know how much longer I could have managed with the level of pain I was in back then, I don't like to think about it, but without Dr Araujo I… don't know if I would even be here to write about where I was and where I am today. He is absolutely the most compassionate and honest person I have come across in the medical field in a very long time !! He has bee a true blessing in my life and I very highly recommend him to anyone that is suffering in pain like I was.

Dr. Araujo treats me for CRPS and Trigeminal Neuralgia. His knowledge and expertise of treating these two syndromes is vastly superior to physicians who cannot or will not consider CRPS/Trigeminal neuralgia as a "real" diagnosis, much less be able to offer medical treatment. Patients are left with feelings of hopelessness and abandonment. Dr. Araujo offers treatment-specific options to alleviate the excruciating pain associated with these conditions. As a recipient of Dr. Araujo's therapy, I can attest to the post-procedure affects of being pain free. His dedicated staff are knowledgeable, accommodating, and understanding. This facility saved my life and I'm extremely grateful to everyone at APMC.

Dr. Araujo is a kind, patient, knowledgable physician. I had excruciating lumbar pain from five different sources and with two different types of procedures he has given me back a life. I was confined to my home in agony but now I can walk around my house and see friends and family with much less pain. I could not stand up straight and walked with a shuffle. After the procedures, I could stand up straight or mostly straight and walk with a normal gait. Although I get this improvement for the minimal amount of time he is now exploring another procedure that has the potential for even greater relief for many, many more years. I have not hesitated to recommend him to others.

I saw him one time.I was then sent to the nurse practitioners for all my medical decisions. I refused injections and they then kicked me out for nothing else to offer.

Dr. Marco Araujo literally saved my life! For two years I suffered from an undiagnosed, extremely painful condition of both arms. I saw many MDs/specialists who ordered extensive tests; all were negative. Due to their lack of knowledge regarding pain issues, I was ultimately diagnosed as having "mental issues" with suggestions to see a psychiatrist. My neurologist, who believed me, referred me to Dr. Marco Araujo. After my initial & very thorough exam, he suggested I may have RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) that could be definitively diagnosed with pain treatment. If the injection worked, RSD was the culprit. After treatment, my pain was reduced 90%! I am happy to report that I have had NO ARM PAIN since my latest injection in Jan. of 2009. Dr. Araujo is the only informed MD who could recognize, diagnose, & successfully treat my condition! He is a remarkable MD who understands his patient's pain. He offers hope, understanding and relief. I praise God for Dr. Araujo & his expertise!

Dr. Marco Araujo is an outstanding physician. After years of visits to countless specialists, I could not get a clear diagnosis for a very serious and painful condition I have. After an extensive exam by Dr. Araujo, I was scheduled for treatment at our local hospital. That treatment worked miraculously and confirmed my diagnosis of RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). He fully understood my symptoms and has a vast knowledge of pain management and control. He is a kind, caring, and patient man who offered hope when no one else seemed to have any knowledge of RSD. Because of him, my life has changed drastically for the better and I HIGHLY recommend anyone who is suffering any type of pain, and is tired of hearing physicians tell you "it's all in your head", to schedule an appointment with Dr. Araujo; a specialist whose main concern is managing and alleviating his patients' pain.
