Dr. Marco L. Ferrone, MD

Was referred here by another dr. Had a reasonable expectation he could diagnose the cause of my back pain and suggest a solution. Quite the opposite happened. Met first with his somewhat frosty PA who did a cursory exam and brief history. Dr Ferroni strode into the room after and did not offer to shake my hand, address me by name , nor smile a greeting. He sat down and did not go over the X-rays I had apparently just wasted my time and money on. He told me he could not help me in any way and I needed to see neurosurgery. I asked why and he said it was because they had treated me prior. I pointed out that that was nearly 20 yrs ago and I had not seen the dr since my post surgical consult. He said I still had to go back there or he could refer me to one of his colleagues. I declined as I doubted I could take another “friendly visit” with one of his pals. I asked him about the X-rays and he replied “nothing dramatic “. I then asked what there was on them that was non-dramatic. He… said a few things you already know about and he mentioned two. How did he know that I would know.? This strange visit just kept getting stranger and stranger. He then stood and briefly shook my hand and walked out. I drove thru almost 90 min of rush hr traffic for this? Worse yet, I will be charged for what amounted to - virtually nothing!

I feel I've been treated fairly well and truly appreciate the care of Dr. Ferrone..

Dr. Ferrone is a brilliant doctor. My husband has a very rare kind of cancer. No other doctor was willing to operate. We went to see Dr. Hornicek at Mass General and he took a cell phone call only two minutes into the appointment and then promptly left. Dr. Ferrone was the exact opposite. He sat with us for HOURS and made sure we understood everything about the surgery.

I went to see Dr. Ferrone after being referred by my foot/ankle orthopedic. He was very professional and kind. Luckily, I did not have a sarcoma. I would highly suggest this doctor!
