Dr. Marco Antonio Lopez Velazquez, MD

I saw Dr. Lopez Velazquez after symptoms of a connective tissue disorder became impossible to ignore; I was later diagnosed with this disorder by a more reputable doctor. Dr. Lopez Velazquez spent no more than five minutes in the exam room with me. His demeanor was disdainful. He 'evaluated' me using criteria for a different subtype of the disorder than the one I requested evaluation for. He made offhanded remarks about my weight (I had a healthy BMI). When I asked him to explain why he wouldn't be making a diagnosis, he told me, 'You can look that up yourself. I have other patients to see,' and promptly left the room. He didn't explore any other potential causes for my pain or refer me to another speciality. I suffered for years after Dr. Lopez Velazquez dismissed my concerns. My disease progressed rapidly without treatment. I developed permanent joint and nerve damage before I found the courage to seek a second opinion after this doctor treated me with such didain. Beware.
