Avoid Dr. Marco Uribe at Advanced Pain Care (Austin). I went in with my back completely locked up and left worse than when I arrived. After waiting over an hour past my appointment, Dr. Uribe came in, didn’t examine me, didn’t review my history paperwork, and ignored the injury visible on my MRI. He said he “doesn’t prescribe medication to people he just met.” My usual doctor there, wasn’t available, so I was scheduled with Dr. Uribe. I’ve already completed physical therapy and chiropractic care. Instead of offering help, he suggested a pain psychiatrist and listed two anti-inflammatory drugs, a nerve-pain medication, and a muscle relaxant, none of which help with sudden, severe pain. He said he’d prescribe a muscle relaxer but never called it in. When I called back, the clerk refused to transfer me to the clinic, said “they’re with patients” without even checking, and told me it could take two days. I explained that I was in pain and asked if she could transfer me directly to the… clinic, and she refused. I paid for unnecessary co-pays, a drug test, and X-rays only to be ignored and dismissed. One of the worst pain-management experiences I’ve ever had.
