Dr. Marcos Javier Michelotti, MD

I came to him after having had surgery with another surgeon that left me with multiple issues including a severe difficulty to swallow. After a few simple tests he was able to find my problem and he offered to revise my operation (something other surgeons I saw refused to offer). The reoperation went smoothly and the recovery was absolutely different! Now I feel that I finally found somebody that actually has the knowledge how to take care of my problem. I would recommend him to my closest friends and family.

Dr. Marcos J Michelotti has a good personality, my surgery was done well I assume, my concerns are paying $488 a visit on my insurance, yet never seeing him (not counting the money he made for the surgery). He is getting paid and does not see his patients. In the hospital, I saw his intern after my surgery. In the office one of my visits, which again cost my insurance $488 plus my co-pay, he was 45 mins. I told him I was getting ready to leave. If I were 45 mins. late they would tell me to reschedule. Then my next visit he didn't even see me, one of the employees said they had been talked to about being late when a patient comes for their appointment. He never apologized, maybe the arrogance of his position it is beneath him to do so. As a person, he seems to be a nice person, as a professional his patients being important to see or talk to seems to be given to Interns and even though he is paid for the visit and surgery he cant make time to see the patient or maybe its just me. I did… not pay or select a doctor to see an intern. Yes, Interns are important and learning. But when I am in the room and hear Dr. Michelotti talking to the intern right outside the door and he doesn't come in to talk to me about my surgery concerns, and the intern says Dr. Michelotti will say HI as I leave, but he didn't, how should I feel. If he feels hurt that I should say want I feel about the service I am receiving, it should be a learning red light for him, instead of shunning me. If he no longer wants me as a patient then let me know. Surgery is an important and scary thing to go through. For Dr. Michelotti, it may be a routine thing, that he gets paid very well for. I am getting an upper GI to make sure my coughing due to bronchitis hasn't caused problems. This is important to me and paying for someone I never even see is crazy. I have always been positive and asked questions about my healthcare. I was happy to find a doctor who took care of my health problem. But I don't care what type of surgery someone is a specialist in, they should be professional and care about their patients and that includes seeing them and talking to them and caring to show the patient they are important. I chose Dr. Michelotti because of his specialty, I was so happy to find a doctor who would be there for me. Yet, now I feel he made his money for the surgery and now he can an intern see me. By the way, I had a concern about how they put the heart monitor on me. I had sores where they put the sensors so far now my breast causing sores and I still have problems and its been 5 months, but he did not have time to discuss it with me. I have another appointment after my GI so let us see what happens. This is why my rating is lower then I would have given.

Surgery was a success. I'm very pleased. I'm thinking about getting gastric band surgery. I will only have him do it if I decide to have it done.

Amazing doctor, very compassionate, highly knowledgeable, excellent personality, great sense of humor. Made sure I was well taken care of in the beginning and he never stopped taking care of me until I completely recovered. What a wonderful man

He is so kind and really cares about your well being. he was with me 100% and has never made me feel bad about my self he has helped me to change my life for ever. this is the best I have felt in years !
