Dr. Marcus A Higgins

Let me start by saying that I have been a patient of Dr. Higgins for 9 years and see him approximately twice a year. I am extremely disappointed in my experience at Higgins Dental this week. I originally came in because one of my fillings had fallen out. I was extremely upset/shocked to find out that I needed my 4 wisdom teeth removed as I have never had a tooth removed in my 40 years. In my opinion, Dr. Higgins demonstrated a cavalier and flippant attitude while discussing this with me. While his bedside manner has always been blunt and no nonsense, his attitude during this visit had a profound effect on me. I left the office not only shocked, but sad and in tears. I called the next morning and spoke with the receptionist. I told her that I had a bad experience the day before and wanted to send my records to another practice for a second opinion. Her only response was “Ok, I’ll email you the release form.” I honestly thought she would have wanted to find out why I had a bad experience… and perhaps attempt to sort it out with me but she did not care. I have been a patient of the office since 2012 and have referred many friends and colleagues to his office. I expected to be treated with care and compassion. Instead, I am now in search of a new dentist.

The most unprofessional staff (especially Christina or however you spell her name). I had narcotic prescriptions written for me without ever seeing the "doctor" and they were given to someone else for pick up who is not related to me, not married to me and was never given permission by me to receive prescriptions or any of my medical information. Completely unethical. I would be surprised if any of the staff had above a high school education.

My experience was really a positive one! The staff was very friendly and Dr. Higgins was very patient and thorough. I will definitely choose him as my dentist!

Staff does not make you feel comfortable. You could actually feel stress. If you are anxious not for you. This office is not warm and fuzzy.

I am amazed by some of these reviews on here because I have referred many friends and co-workers to Dr. Higgins office and everyone is extremely pleased that they have found a caring and compassionate dental office. I give them 5 stars across the board! As for the previous post in regards to having to wait for a response, if you called your physician's office past hours, would they not recommend if it was an emergency to hang up and call 911 or visit your local ER? Think about it....

Last May I had my wisdom teeth pulled by Marcus Higgins. My surgery took almost 3 hours, and while my wife (who was 8 months pregnant at the time) waited in the office listening to Office Manager Kristina & another associate talk about their trip to Las Vegas that weekend. By the time I left the office, Dr. Higgins had already left to catch his flight for Las Vegas. When I arrived home, I had massive bleeding and tried to call his office. Noone anwsered his phone (@ 4:24pm) and went to voicemail but had no forwarding information or who to contact in the event of an emergency. I ended up in the emergency room for 2 nights trying to get the bleeding stopped. When their office finally contacted us the next day at 5:09pm, they said it was our choice to go to the ER and that it didn't matter that they were out of town. They refused any payment or reimbursement, and to this day are still trying to charge me additional money for the extraction. Marcus Higgins refuses to speak to me or meet me… in person to discuss this bill. I have had to go to an Oral Surgeon twice since going through this. PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I've spent thousands of dollars on my mouth for his mishap, his office manager Kristina has literally laughed at me and told me it was my choice to go to the ER, and hasn't once apologized for what happened to me. If you read some of Marcus Higgins previous reviews, this is the 3rd instance of poor performance & extraction, as well as HORRIBLE customer service. Once you're out of his office, you're not their problem anymore from my experience and the other reviews. I am currently writing to the BBB regarding this matter as well

Dr. Higgins and his staff are the kindest people ever! Appointments are easy to get, the office is super clean, the staff is friendly, the wait time is short, I can't say enough good things about this office. I had a lot of work done at this office (including work that required pain killers) and I had the best experience ever. I think the man who posted twice sounds like a drug seeker; I know what I was given and if that doesn't help with pain then you're looking for some hardcore drugs. If anyone asked me which dentist in town to see I would definitely recommend this one. I had one dentist who if you were lucky enough to actually get someone to pick up, always put you on hold for 20 minutes or more until you hung up, twice I had to drive all the way to the office just to schedule an appointment because it was impossible to do over the phone! I have never had a problem like that with Dr. Higgins office. They always answer the phone and help you pronto! I love them.

It had been years since I had been to the dentist, because of past bad experiences at another dentist office, but from the moment I walked into Dr. Higgins office, everyone there made me feel completely at ease. The staff were all very attentive and knowledgable, and Dr. Higgins was awesome. They were so accomidating and tried so hard to make me comfortable. I loved Dr. Higgins and will definately be going back to him. :)
