Dr. Margaret B. Boyse, MD

First time seeing her, she walked in short-tempered with a chip on her shoulder. She interrupted me at every turn, even challenging my responses to her questions. She came off as childish and intolerant. It took everything in me to remain calm and passive while everything I said was met with interruption and disdain. Ultimately, she decided time was up and just walked out of the room without any closing salutation. I was appalled at her behavior. I'm an RN who has been in health care long enough to notice the red flags. This one's not mature enough to be an adult, let alone an MD.

She seemed rushed. She does not like for you to ask questions. She ask very few questions before diagnosing and suggesting treatment. I had no confidence in her and will not go back to see her.

The problem I had with Dr. Boyse was the way she treated me when I had a small complaint and question about symptoms I was having after she treated me. She became terse, belittling and condescending. She said something to the effect of "Do you really think you see what is not there?" as if I had said something crazy to her. When she left the room after speaking with me I could hear her saying something in a derogatory and sarcastic tone after which I heard laughter from the nurse. I had had a good experience until I dared to question her once, then she completely changed towards me. The experience embarrassed me, made me feel terrible and I never went back.

Dr. Boyse missed a fairly obvious and deep basal cell carcinoma on my face for several years. I now have to have extensive surgery to remove it. She doesn't take her time to look closely at your skin at the annual checkups.

I think she's super- smart, caring, great information. Very happy to have her as my dermatologist.

I have a specific idea of what I want in a doctor. I want them to listen to what I say (because I know my body better than they do), I want them to be competent, and I want them to be personable. An extra perk is if they can be quick but at the same time informative and not rushing. I have to say, I was nervous about Dr. Boyse filling these because of the reviews here. However, she met every one of them! Is she the kind of doctor who wants your life story? No. She gets to the point, but she is friendly and knowledgeable. I also have to say, her nurse made my visit even better- the sweetest! And she thought of everything above and beyond her responsibilities! Will definitely be coming here again for my derm needs!

When I went to see Dr. Margaret Boyse, my total visit consisted to be about 58 minutes. About 47 of those minutes was me waiting for her to come into the room, and last 8 minutes is where I had actual face time with her. After the eight minutes, I was then handed a prescription, and I was out the door. I would never recommend anyone to go see Dr. Boyse. I was a new patient, and our relationship did not start off correctly. Being a brand new patient, I thought that I would have had more face time with the doctor. I work in a doctors office so I completely understand that it is very inconvenient, when patients have to wait 30 minutes to an hour just to see the doctor. Unfortunately, it happened to me and this was unacceptable. Even after I spoke with her, I felt like she was very amateur and unknowledgeable. Hopefully, she will realize that first impressions last forever, because I will never go see her again, and will not recommend her to my family and friends.

I have had several appts. with Dr. Boyse and have always felt shewas very attentive and had a great bedside manner.
