Dr. Margaret Theresa Carlini, MD

I will be very sad when Dr. Margaret T. Carlini retires. She is wonderful, so helpful, really listens and gets back to you quickly after looking into alternatives.

I would recommend Dr. Teresa Carlini to anyone needing a caring, thorough physiatrist with experience. Who can ask for more?

On a scale of 1 to 4, Dr. Carlini is a trillion. She diagnosed a difficult case (She is very knowledgeable.), called a pharmacy on her cell phone, scheduled an emergency app't. with a specialist and called our home to check on me. Outstanding! She is caring, smart and a really nice person, too. The consummate professional and a real credit to her profession!

She spends a great deal of time with her patients and makes you feel like she truly cares. She will take as much time as needed to answer all of you questions and fully explain your diagnosis.

I went to Dr. Carlini about a year ago. I was extremely uncomfortable. I had terrible pain in both of my feet and I could hardly walk. I already had a diagnosis of fibromyalgia but the pain in my feet did not fit into that diagnosis. My last treatments had been with an Acupuncturist. The treatments were helpful, but did nothing for my foot pain. I also had to pay for the acupuncture our of my own pocket. I had spent nearly $7,000. I was hoping to get some treatment that was covered under my health insurance.I was referred to Dr. Carlini because she was suppose to have experience with acupuncture and she accepted my insurance.Well, right off the bat I had a bad feeling. . . I had to wait over an hour just to see the doctor. I was told to bring xrays of both of my feet. The doctor never looked at the xrays.She NEVER examined my feet except for when whe told me whe was almost sure I had "tarsel tunnel" syndrome. Then she proceeded to test the instep of my left foot by hitting… it with a rubber mallet. This caused such excruciatingt pain that I coiled up into fetal position and held my feet in my hands.She then gave me a speech about narcotic addiction and told me that she would never prescribe me ANY narcotic medication for the condition I had presented with (even though she had no evidence to actually diagnose it).She told me that the only thing that would actually help me would be an antidepressant. So I left her office - she took mercy on me and gave me a sample of Ultram extra strength but she forgot to give me the prescription for the antidepressant (the one I reallhy needed). I actually had to go back to her office to get it.I told her that my pain was a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 and she told me that if it was that bad that I should go to an emergency room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say I was pretty upset and still in a ton of pain.Anyway, I was diagnosed 3 months later with RSD/CRPS - and the sad thing is that the xrays that Dr. Carlini had me get done showed that I had Sudeck's atrophy, which is evidence of RSD/CRPS in late stages. Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy or Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome which is a very painful degenerative nerve disorder. Too bad Dr. Carlini didn't bother to look at the xrays that SHE ordered.I am positive that Dr. Carlini simply did not believe me - she did not think I was in as much pain as I was in. She just thought I was trying to cop a script for some awesome Percocet!!!!! Oooohhh. . ....yeah...I just love the nausea!!!!
