Dr. Margaret V Elizondo, MD

It gives me great pleasure to write a recommendation for Dr. Margaret Elizondo. She was my primary care physician for approximately twenty-five years at Sharp Health Care in San Diego, CA. She then decided to go into palliative care at Sharp and I had to find another physician. Then sadly my wife developed brain cancer and died three months later. During this period, Dr. Elizondo and her organization provided her excellent care and compassion. Dr. Elizondo came to our home several times and her team helped me care for her until she passed. Following her death, Dr. Elizondo’s organization provided me with ongoing group grief counseling. My entire history with Dr. Elizondo has been superb. Dr. Elizondo is the best family physician. She cares about the entire family. She doesn’t only “see” her patients...she truly cares for them. She always took her time with us. As new first time parents, she always answered every question we had. We always looked forward to our visits with her. Visiting her office was always a pleasant experience. You couldn’t have a nicer person as your family physician.

As a mother, wife or daughter you want nothing but the best for your family. You want someone to care for them just as you do. There's a comfort in knowing that the person who cares for them is competent, compassionate and will care for them as if they were her own. Those times when the news is good, she smiles and laughs with you. Those times when the news isn't the best, she's there to comfort. Everyone I know who has had her as a physician appreciates her. Definately one of San Diego's BEST!

I’ve known Dr Elizondo for 25 years. She was our first family physician as a married adult, she has delivered my kids and was their doctor, she has overseen a traumatic heath issue for my husband, and with the entire Sharp team - saved his life. She has never shown anything but incredible kindness and compassion. That’s what made her perfect fit for hospice and palliative care that she does now. So she has run the gamut, and takes care of the most precious and innocent at the beginning of their life and also our beloved’s at the end. We are lucky human’s to have received this!

She has no feelings, doesn't spend too much time with patients and heavily medicates the patients.

Courteous staff.Doctor Elizondo is a very professional and caring individual. her follow up calls after needed surgery and medical treatments are really appreciated.
