Dr. Margaret Mary Lenci, MD

This office never follows through, make constant mistakes, leaves patients hanging, aren’t efficient, always running late, no one answers questions and they never tell you correct hours of operations. This Dr is the worse dr...has no compassion and no “bedside manner!” Run in the opposite direction!

My father who lives in Florida had been battling a "mysterious" illness for a better part of 2 years with no results and a worsening progression of his condition. I suggested he come to New York and see if doctors here could unravel this mystery. We began with an Internist who referred us to a myriad of doctors. After months of doctor visits, numerous tests and no answers, my father was resigned to the fact that this was his fate and he would live with this condition until his demise. He wanted to return home. I convinced him to see one more doctor before he "gave up". I made the appointment with Dr. Lenci who saw him rather quickly and almost immediately made the diagnosis of Psoriatic Arthritis. She placed him on medication which he responded to quickly and his condition improved dramatically! My father was so happy but not quite as happy as Dr. Lenci. She saved my father in many ways and gave him back his life! She is the best!

Dr. Lenci is pleasant and willing to listen. She is not dogmatic but neither is she proactive. She is so laid back that it is hard to discern an opinion and she therefore comes across as wishy-washy, for want of a better term. She has been described as someone who "does nothing" and while that may be useful in some situations, I did not find it helpful. Certainly she does not over-react, but perhaps more of a response might be useful. She appears competent and capable, and I would not doubt her medical judgement when rendered.

I was pleased with Dr. Lenci when I visited & was encouraged to call anytime I needed to. I was extremely disappointed when I called her office regarding a flare up of my condition, specifically extremely dry, itchy and swollen eyes not relieved with over the counter drops. The office staff was rude & told me that she would probably refer me to an Opthalmologist despite the fact that this symptom is directly related to the condition that she treats me for. I explained that she had previously offered prescription eye drops but they were not needed at the time. I received a callback from her office staff several hours later telling me that they could refer me to an Opthalmologist in the MKMG. No temporary relief was offered even though they acknowledged that I may have to wait weeks for an appointment.

rude, and not considerate, seemed bored and annoyed

Dr. Lenci maybe on top of her game in her specialty but as a patient you would never know. Her demeanor is business like, cool and somewhat unapproachable. As a patient it is impossible to speak to her directly without having an appointment. Her proverbial "gate keepers" do not always provide accurate information. Both she and her staff are difficult to engage in any kind of in depth discussion regarding concerns. If you want a strictly "maintenance" approach for your medical condition she could be the right fit for you.
