Dr. Margaret Jacqueline Lobo, MD

I went to her with foot numbness and pain. Although she told me what she felt was wrong and that I needed physical therapy, I got the impression that she was not at all invested in our conversation. I tried to explain to her other symptoms and she cut my off and said I need physical therapy. I left very annoyed. If you read other reviews, she has done this with similar patients. I did not like her AT ALL! She may know her stuff but if she has poor bedside manner go to someone who has both!

Dr Lobo explained what was happening to my toe to cause me pain. She answered all of my questions. Extremely pleasant

I broke my heel in multiple pieces and the surgery was recommended by Dra Margaret Lobo, plates and screws would be placed to join the pieces and reposition my bone. Looking all the reviews and years of experience, I thought I was in good hands. Otherwise it was far of happen. After 3 months of surgery the pain only increased rather than decreased and my progress in physical therapy was getting worse. Almost four months after the surgery, In one appointment with Dra Lobo I was explaining my concerns related to pain and how I could see that my foot was crocket making it rolls inside, she said I was compensating the pain and practically called me dramatic, comparing me with patients who in my situation still were still depended on a wheelchair. She never asked me for other exam but x-ray, what it was very clear that the screw was in my joint!! And she never said one word about it. I know something was really wrong, the pain was too strong to be normal as she was assuring me. So I… decided to look for a second opinions. Three different surgeons, through more detailed exams, diagnosed that she did not put my bone back in place, as she put a screw in my joint, which I now have arthritis and will have to do another surgery to try to fix what she made even worse. I have lived the worst and most painful six months in my whole life!!

Dr lobo knows her stuff, she explains the procedure,recovery time and side effects very clearly. The Dr. Is an all around good person that does care about her patients. I would and will recommend her to family and friends.

Dr Lobo, received me as a patient from the Lahey Hospital Emergency Room. Shattered my heel bone into four pieces when a ladder collapsed. I was 52 years of age. Over 45-50 normally disallows you for calcaneus surgery. Too risky. I work in a fast paced construction environment. Very physical job. Never sit down. Always moving at work. Went to four other surgeons in this orthopedic field. No one ever held out even a sliver of hope that I would work at any job where I was not desk bound except Dr Lobo. Even she did not think I could return to my original job. I am 58 years of age now and back to work at my old job. Medical miracle. Took two years to get back up to full speed, but I did it. Do some research on this surgery. It is extremely complicated. Dr Lobo definitely worked a miracle when she pulled my foot apart and put it all back together. Thank you Dr Lobo

My husband received surgery from Dr. Lobo to remove a bone spur and a partially shredded achilles. Dr Lobo did not adequately explain the surgery or the expected recovery time; packed his foot too tightly post op causing nerve damage; and neglected to remove the bone spur which caused the problems to begin with. She was non responsive to phone calls and it takes forever to get an appointment with her. 9 months later and still in considerable pain, my husband has to have the surgery re-done which is likely to be much more extensive due to the first botched surgery. Needless to say, he is getting it done elsewhere. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Lobo was great....clearly explained the surgery, as well as recovery time and process...I highly recommend Dr. Lobo...prompt and professional...

Dr. Lobo is knowledgeable, courteous, caring, understanding and very patient. I've seen several Orthopaedic Surgeons and she is NUMBER 1. I recommend her 100%! She is the best!

It started on my first visit with Dr. LoBo that the prognosis to final visit she was right on the money. Explain everything from what was going to happen to what each follow up visit consisted and what to expect as we went forward. I was reassured by her and the staff how we could accomplish surgery and recovery. The thing that amased me was the timing when everything would take place and how detailed Dr LoBo was for my surgery and recovery for 3 months. I will need another surgery in four months for the same reason and would only let Dr LoBo take this on with me.

Blew me off! Not interested at all in talking to me or providing a valid evaluation of my issue. Go to someone else.
