Margaret (Peggy) Rose, ARNP-BC

Margaret (Peggy) Rose, ARNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who has provided medication management and psychotherapy for more than forty years. She holds a Master’s Degree from Seattle University in Existential-Phenomenological Psychology. She believes in-depth psychology and the fact that our own mortality is an eventuality we may choose to dread, or use as inspiration to appreciate the precious brevity of our time here. Her goal is to help patients in the way that works best for them. Every person is an individual, and she strives to differentiate to the most reasonable possible degree in her psychotherapeutic practice. She treats adolescents and adults, and has particular expertise with first episode Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder.

Peggy began her nursing career at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff in the 1970s. After graduation, she gained experience in several specialty nursing units, including dialysis and NICU. In 1990, she completed …the Seattle University Master of Arts in Existential Phenomenological Psychology. Their individual approach to psychotherapy has driven her personal philosophy ever since. She has been licensed as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington since 1992.

The title of Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (also called Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in certain localities) permits her to do the same work as a psychiatrist with a medical doctorate, although she does not hold a doctorate. She prescribes medication within her scope of practice, i.e., psychiatric medicine like antidepressants and ADHD treatments and work independent of outside supervision. She has found in her own experience and with her colleagues that long experience as a registered nurse was immensely beneficial in helping her work with patients in a compassionate, highly competent, and unfailingly ethical manner.

While Peggy spent decades so far working to help patients and learn more about the nuances of everyday life, she still tries to remember how little any one of us can know. Honest dialogue and communication are the foundation of successful therapy. At this time, her practice, Roselight LLC, only treats patients virtually, but they are pursuing office space for those patients who prefer to be seen in-person.
