Dr. Margaret Dicolandrea Plocek, MD

I will never go to Dr Plocek for another colonoscopy. I went in for my 10 year routine colonoscopy and Dr Plocek coded it as a necessary colonoscopy instead of routine. Due to this my insurance company didn't pay the full billing amount leading to me being responsible for $1,500.00. When I called her office I was told it wasn't routine due to my doctor moving up my due date for a colonoscopy by a month due to rectal bleeding. My doctor had already determined the bleeding was due to a hemorrhoid. I asked Dr Ploceks office to resubmit to my insurance as a routine colonoscopy so insurance would pay the remaining $1,500.00, the told me no. Needless to say I would not recommend her and will inform my doctor that my next colonoscopy be done by Upstate Medical.

Saw Dr. Plosek a few years back. I was told I had anal fissures. She prescribed a cream with a heart medication in it. Was suppose to heal my issue. After time and other follow up visits, a surgery ( Botox injection ) and calls to the office because the pain continued and became debilitating. I saw seen again at the office because I was so desperate to get some sort of comfort. I was seen by her PA and he said after another exam that I should try another Botox inj. Surgery was set up and when she came in the first thing she said to me was, it was to early for her to do the surgery. “ I was lucky she was there” . I was taken into surgery, and the next thing I knew I was wakened and the Botox inj. Had not been done. I was told I had cancer. I was also accused of being a smoker. She said, this type of cancer was caused by being a smoker. I have never smoked in my life..... she was rude to my husband and continued to say I must be a smoker. I had been in pain for a year. Went through… Kemo and radiation. I then did research and found the compound medication she had prescribed could have been the cause of my cancer.... it was compounded with a petroleum jelly. I used it for about 3 months straight. I am to this day still having troubles... . please be aware of her!

I was referred to Dr. Margaret Plocek 10 years ago and she saved my life. She really cares and will do everything she can to help you. My condition happened to be very serious and she out of her way to make sure all testing, surgery and additional physicians were informed. When I see her for my follow ups, I give her hug as she really did save my life. I feel as though if she wasn't as quick to respond and change her schedule around for me, I may not be here to write this review. I only have great things to say about her!!

Dr Plocek has been my Dr for years. Amazing bedside manner and always takes my concerns and questions seriously. She was the only person who cold diagnose my condition after suffering for 15 years. Her staff is always friendly and helpful. And return my calls promptly.

Dr Plocek asked questions, shared information and gave advice with choices and flexibility to solve my elderly father's difficulties.

Poor bedside manner needs to listen more to her pt

Dr. Plocek was rude, condescending, and completely dismissive. I felt humiliated having to pull my pants down in front of her and her assistant who she never even bothered to introduce. I at least thought I'd be given a sheet. She was clearly not invested in me as a patient whatsoever, and acted put off when I asked a clarifying question. Her response was a smirk and to hand me a pamphlet. I literally left the office in tears and will NEVER go back. I'd rather have flaming anal fissures for the rest of my days than be treated like that again. If this post prevents one person from having to experience what I did, then it's worth it to me.

Horrible doctor, I went to her for a problem I was having for 6 months and she didnt even clear the issue. Its a long wait time to see a specialist then when you finally see the doctor and she gives you 5 minutes of her time it is very disappointing. I had to take time off from work for a 5 minute brush off appointment the two times I saw her. She rushes you out the door the minute she walks through it. They dont even have you put an apron on when you get in the exam room. You are just told to pull your pants down and lean over the bed to be examined. She didnt even ask me what was wrong when she met me, she looked at my new patient paperwork I filled out before the visit which allows you describe your problem in two sentences. So i tried to describe my problem as she was examining me since she didnt allow me to discuss the problem before. Its like she diagnosed me before I even spoke. she did not do any testing on me, she just gave me an external cream. I asked her if she could do… testing on me at that first visit since ive tried a number on creams with my PCP and she told me we would do the testing the next time. One my second and last visit she didnt even do any testing on me even though I was having the same problem. She prescribed me another ointment. You get the impression that she feels like you are wasting her time. If i were there for a major issue that required surgery she would have paid more attention to me. She walks you out the door with your chart as she is still talking (another antic to get you out the door quicker), still allowing no room to ask questions as shes babbling.

I was referred to Dr. Plocek and I can honestly say I will never forget what a negative experience it was. She was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Totally insensitive to my issues and I literally left the building in tears.
