Margreete Johnston MD is a graduate of Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee. Tulane University in New Orleans provided her residency training. Prior to entering private practice, Dr Johnston worked for the Public Health Service in a physician shortage area.

She is Board Certified by the AAP and active in community advocacy. Dr. Johnston's primary focus is general pediatrics, birth through college age youth, with an emphasis on preventive medicine.

As a certified lactation consultant, Dr Johnston is able to help families establish breastfeeding. Her hobbies include art., photography and travel. Her husband Bill Doak, MD, helped establish Childrens Clinic of Donelson. They have two sons.

She is a great doctor and knows her stuff. She was my doctor as a child and is now my sons doctor. She is soon to retire and I hate it because I will have to find him a new doctor. He was once sick and I took him to another doctor in the clinic and she quickly misdiagnosed him. I took him back a few weeks later and she knew exactly what the problem was as soon as she looked. She is always caring and nurturing when it comes to him. Let me tell you my son is a handful, but some how she remains patient. Absolutely the best!

Dr. Johnston is sweet, patient and thorough. She truly cares for my son and his well-being. I also love the fact that she is a CLC (certified lactation consultant) and takes the time to work on any feeding issues we have had since day one. Her staff is always helpful and courteous - even helping me to my car during my C-section recovery. I cannot speak highly enough about her and her team. I am so grateful to have her as my son's pediatrician!

She has been our doctor for 20 years. She is very thorough and talks to your child. She saved my child getting him to the hospital quickly and left no stone uncovered . I like how thorough she is

My son is so blessed to have Dr. Johnston as a pediatrician. She is very compassionate not to just our child, but to us as a family. I breast feed and she is a huge supporter/encourager of that. She is very flexible in allowing us to bring our son in for wellness check-ups on Saturdays due to our work schedule. I admire her way to speak positive things over our son. For example, she said to our son, "I really believe you are going to be something great one day". Lastly, I like the way she exhaust all things to make sure she is on point with her medical diagnosis. Thanks Dr. Johnston!...You are a True God Sent.

My children have been patients of Dr. Johnstons for 17 years. I trust her completely. She completely reassures me and we have been through quite a bit with medical issues with my daughter. She is wonderful, and extremely knowledgeable.
