I was a long term patient at Tustin Plaza Dental Group in Orange, Ca. but my recent experiences within the last six month showed a rapid decline in service since the business was sold. I showed up for my appointment complaining of extreme pain with an erupted tooth in need of extraction. The "proposed treatment plan" I was given at my last visit stated it would cost $433 out of pocket for the extraction and bone graft. When I showed up, Dr Abello said she couldn't do the procedure and that I had to wait one week for their specialist. I told Dr Abello I was in great pain and she wrote a prescription for Motrin 800mg even though she had a list of my meds that states I can't take any more nsaids because I take the max prescribed my my RA. Dr Abello was flippant stating that that's all she could do. I asked for an emergency referral and the office said they were closing and would get back to me on monday. At 3:15pm the same friday, I called a dentist close to my home and they got me in… on a the same day at 4pm and the Dentist there worked around the patients he already had to take care of my emergency extraction. The new dental office charged me $170 out of pocket. I transferred my insurance to my new dentist. Tustin Plaza Dental Group changed ownership I later found out which explained the steady decline in the quality of service. The new dentists are constanly pushing unnecessary procedures at inflated prices. Avoid Dr Abello and Tustin Plaza Dental Group in Orange, Ca.
