Dr. Maria Theresa Aristigueta-Merkhofer, MD

Dr. Aristigueta took a good 45 minutes on my first visit to discuss my sleep issues and to get a full understanding of my condition. She spent 20+ minutes on both my follow-ups. Very pleasant and attentive to the patient. I highly recommend her.

I have been a patient of Dr. Aristigueta for several years and have been pleased with the care I have received. With her help I have been able to successfully deal with medical issues that had gone overlooked and untreated for years. She has always responded quickly to questions or concerns despite her hectic schedule.

I found her to be rude! She had no bedside manner when I saw her. Cold personality. She made me feel like a slug when I told her I had stopped using my CPAP years ago because I did not have the symptoms I had back then, AND I had lost weight. She assured me I had sleep apnea without getting the sleep study. A split sleep study was scheduled. I was told for the sleep study I should do everything I would have done at home. I arrived with mp3 player and a puzzle book. The admitting tech was cold and rude. She told me, "No TV, no reading material and no MP 3 player. VERY bad experience. Threw me into a panic attack, which I had not had for a while. I would never recommend this Dr to any patient. If you are referred to her, Ask for someone else. Honestly, Dr Aristigueta is NOT the Dr you want. The test revealed I had NO sleep apnea But I did experience a low oxygen reading, which I attributed to the stress that was placed on me at admitting. The atmosphere for the sleep study was… cold--a hospital examine room with a bed. NOT conductive to good sleep! How does a Dr diagnose without doing the test, first? A good Doctor does not do that! She needs to go back to school and learn compassion in dealing with patients!

The staff and system this office uses is kept separate from the rest of the Hospital. It is slow, unorganized, has poorly trained help and takes forever to get an appointment. Dr. Aristigueta is a very caring person but by the time you actually get to see her after dealing with everything else you don't care.

A physician with no personality whatsoever who shows contempt for her patients. AND, misdiagnoses with stunning regularity. Recommend: NO (way).

Make sure they are getting pre-authorizations before doing sleep studies otherwise you may be footing the bill or it will take you 8 months to get them to appeal with your insurance company. What a nightmare this has been.

She had me do the sleep study at night, I am a night shift worker and sleep during the day, and i have my sleep apnea problem in the morning when i get home, despite that i snored and stopped breathing twice during the study. she told me to lose wieght' even though i'm 5'7 and 174 pounds, she just pushed through our appointment, and acted like she should be elsewhere, I wasted my time and $800 dollars after insurance, to tell me to lose a couple of pounds, and by the way I still wake myself up after not breathing, AVOID HER IF YOU GET REFFERED TO HER AS I DID, FIND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR>
