Dr. Maria Belen Bello, MD

I literally am begging you not to go to Dr. Bello's office for your medical check-ups or treatment. My husband is a Colonel in the United States Air Force and I am the Director of Welcoming at a United Methodist Church and stay at home mom. We are not the kind of people to publicly disparage others. However, Dr. Bello and her NP, Kari Riley, are completely unresponsive and irresponsible. When I initially went to Dr. Bello's office to inform Nurse Practitioner, Kari Riley, that my mother had died unexpectedly, she never even said she was sorry for our loss, despite the fact that my mother had been going there for years. She was rude to us and expressed resentment several times because my husband and I had unknowingly come during her lunch break. Dr. Bello and Ms. Riley do not return phone calls nor will they see you if you have concerns. In the days since my mother died, I have had doctors and nurses look at her medical records and tell me that her death would likely have been… preventable had she been prescribed even a modicum of medication. One physician exclaimed, "I can not believe her NP did not, at the very least, given her medical history, prescribe baby aspirin!" My mother lived in The Plantation on Route 27. I have now heard from several of her neighbors in The Plantation who have said they quit seeing Dr. Bello and Kari Riley quite some time ago now because the two of them treat their practice like a "Medicaid Mill." One retired State Department official explained to me in detail how he nearly lost his life and spent months in rehabilitation due to Ms. Riley's negligence, lack of medical understanding, and dismissive personality. My husband and I have worked with health care providers all over the world in our more than 20 years of service to the US military and never, ever, have we come across this type of negligence and uncaring medical practice. I truly pray you will find somewhere else--anywhere else--for your health care needs and the health care needs of your loved ones.

I have been seeing Dr Bello for 4 years and she is always compassionate and easy to talk to. I have full confidence in her suggestions and treatment plans. Her staff is efficient and friendly and Kari, her nurse practitioner is competent and caring.

Bello sits at computer during whole visit. Pt. is nothing more to her than a check from Ins. Co. You get a diagnosis from the receptionist as you leave. No referrals to specialist - just a paper diagnosis on your way out the door.

If you want to talk to someone at her office about a problem forget it, there is no way..that's why I gave her a 4

Dr. Bello is an experienced medical doctor! She is very caring doctor!

Dr. Bello is an authentic person. She is NOT arrogant or haughty; she listens! She takes the time you need and helps you solve your problems. She knows as much about natural healing as she does about medicine. Easy going, comfortable!

Dr. Bello really listens to me, she cares about what I have to say. Because she listens she understands what I am going through. When I have a question she explains in layman terms, so I can understand her answer. 100 percent of the time that I have gone to her my appointments have been timely and the wait times short. I have been going to her for four years. I have never been rushed or left with unanswered questions. She is such a gem! If you are looking for a compassionate, understanding and educated doctor, she is the one! K. Thompson

I've been a patient of Dr. Bello now for 8 years, she listens to your concerns and is good at diagnosing your problems, she has treated me for many conditions and has referred me to top notch doctors in the area that have taken good care of me. You may wait a little bit in the office but once she see's you she spends all the time needed with you. I highly recommend her.

Dr.Bello and her staff are wonderful, caring people an I feel my care is excellent. The only problem I have is I am a business woman and I cannot sit in a waiting room for 2 hours every time I visit the office.
