Dr. Maria Aurora O Cayelli, MD

I was very pleased in the beginning with Dr Cayelli -- she studied with Dr Andrew Weil and suggested holistic treatments for conditions to replace allopathic medicines. She spent a lot of time at each appointment and seemed to really care about treating the person, not the condition. But the covid episode made her forget the entire holistic (treating the individual) part of her practice, making her simply another allopathic doctor. Nothing special about her anymore. At one point she referred me to several specialists for various suspected conditions, each "specialist" worse than the last. One of them even tried to have a DNA test done without my permission. In early 2021 I passed out while shopping because I couldn't breathe while wearing a face mask. She point-blank refused to take individual health into account and refused to give me an exemption from masks, even tho' it was obvious that I was not infected with covid. She wouldn't even see me, in her office or outside the office,… unless I wore a mask. So much for holistic care. I should also point out two things: she has a concierge practice, so you pay a certain amount either yearly or monthly. She does not accept any kind of health insurance. This was okay with me so long as she practiced holistic medicine. When she stopped, I stopped paying. Also she offers no testing in her office: no xrays, no blood testing, nothing. You have to go to an outside lab for every kind of test, which is not always doable. In short, if you pick this "doctor," good luck.

Dr. Cayelli saved my husbands life in 2002! Her assessment doesn't end with the appointment. 4 other Doctors treated him for crippling arthritis for 4 years. She gave a life saving referral and 16 years later I still have my Robert. I love Dr. Cayelli for saving his life. Thank you Dr. Cayelli!!

She is very calm and professional. Always answers my questions fully until I understand the answers. She never rushes me - she has a very respectful bedside manner. I refer her to anyone asking if I know a good physician.
