Dr. Maria Cristina Davila, MD

I only saw Dr Davila for a year, specifically for medication management (saw someone else for therapy). Her office got me in quickly and they renewed my Rx. I was skeptical when she never looked me in the eye. I was clear in my expectation that we were just medication management (1or2 visits per year) The she began to withhold medication unless I had an office visit, (it felt like extortion so she could bill my insurance for a visit). She also didn't even show up for an appointment and some random assistant tried to ask me questions. The one star is because the receptionist was super helpful in helping me.

Dr. Davila has been a life-saver for me! I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff. She offers the latest in depression treatment, such as Ketamine and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). I have been a part of IOP at her office, also. Through her care, I have found hope. She listens well, explains things thoroughly, and works me in when I am having an emergency. I am very thankful for Dr. Davila.

The physician is more worried about her phone and her personal needs and not the needs of anyone she has to deal with as a patient waited over an hour and got 2 minutes with her never even went to get the prescriptions went to another doctor

I went to Dr. Davila when I needed to see someone that could mentor me and adjust my meds. I had seen her twice before I called & scheduled another apt with her. Sat in a room by myself for an hr and 20 min while hearing the entire conversation with herself, another patient, and his wife. The walls are paper thin. As soon as she came in she told me she wasn't taking any patients on benzos. I scheduled the apt for a xanax refill because my previous doctor retired & thought since I already saw Maria 2 times and she knew I was on Xanax it'd be easier to go to her. She called me me a "Benzo patient". I take a low grade of xanax as needed. She had ZERO bedside manner, & took someone off of a benzo that's been on them for 13 yrs never with any issues. I'd think a psychiatrist would know that isn't safe. I'll never go back to her again, and HIGHLY suggest none else visits her either. It was a waste of my time, time off work, and money. This lady has zero care for her patients.

When I first walked into Awakenings I had very little hope for my future. I was considering divorcing my husband, had alienated my sons and wasn’t sure life was worth living. I cried most of my visit and after meeting with Dr. Davila and her staff I was hopeful for the first time in at least a year. Dr. Davila is incredibly comforting as well as incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable. The reception staff was warm and informative. The TMS Staff was great about educating me regarding the treatment and had a very positive attitude about the successes they had seen in the past. The IOP Facilatator was also very helpful. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am and how much my life has changed since walking through their doors just over a month ago. I will never be able to repay them for their kindness and for the changes they have made in my life. I am not new to suffering from depression and if rating my treatment in the past 25 years to my treatment received at Awakenings it… would be a 10 for Awakenings and a 1 for past care.

Made an appointment with this office over a week ago based on a clinical recommendation. When we arrived for the appointment we were told we would have to pay the entire out of network rate even though they were indeed still in network, as of today. The office personnel stated that because the intake person did not get the information to begin, they were unable to use our insurance. Seemed very odd. The office staff was extremely unprofessional and told us we were welcome to find a new doctor if we weren’t comfortable paying out of network rates when they were in network. So, obviously we left... I have never left a review on a Dr’s office before because experiences are so different, however this business practice is unacceptable and on the unethical spectrum, as well.

I have been helped immensely by Dr. Davila and the staff at her clinic, Awakenings. She understands my complex medical issues, listens well, and is caring and concerned. In addition to seeing Dr. Davila, I have attended the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and have undergone Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) at Awakenings. I have experienced wonderful results from both.

Dr. Davila is the first professional in many years that has been willing to look at my situation with an unbiased perspective. She has helped me more in the last six months than years of other doctors has been able or willing to. When medication after medication was incompatible she offered me a new option, TMS or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. The TMS team, headed by Nino, provided a safe alternative that made a bigger difference than I had seen in myself for years. I high recommend Dr. Davila and her team to anyone seeking help or guidance.
