Dr. Maria Anna Dourmas

I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. Dr. Dourmas extracted my wisdom teeth. She was extremely professional and courteous. She is an excellent surgeon and clinician, and cares deeply about the well-being of her patients. I had a wonderful experience with the surgery and would recommend this practice to anyone in need of oral surgery. She is the only oral surgeon I'd ever go to!

HONEST? ZERO PAIN? Patient and Understanding??? I have found a unicorn in a forest of greedy wolves! After a dentist cracked my tooth without telling me while filling a cavity, I was having a lot of pain. I went to two other dentist/oral surgeons in my area. Both "highly" recommended a root canal with assurances that the tooth could be saved. With over a thousand dollars at stake, I decided to get one more opinion. Enter Dr. Maria Dourmas of Queensboro Oral Surgery. She took X-rays and patiently examined me. Then she showed me the detailed X-Rays, showed me how the tooth was cracked in several places, and explained that there was no way this tooth could be "saved". She explained that I would be spending hundreds if not over a thousand on an obviously useless root canal, and the tooth would have to be pulled afterwards anyway, thus costing me even more not only in money, but wasted time and pain. Now HERE is an honest doctor who cares about her patients and is not motivated by greed. I… made another appointment, and she pulled the tooth. There it was, my poor tooth in pieces in front of me. She was right. Not only that, Dr. Dourmas was above and beyond gentle. I felt nothing (and I usually feel everything and need more pain killers than the usual person because I'm a baby). No pain AT ALL and I wasn't even put under. I was given pain killers for later on, but never felt anything besides a slight swelling, and didn't take them. The front office staff is very friendly and efficient, and the office, waiting room and bathroom were very clean. Dr. Dourmas is kind, caring, funny (!) and professional. Dr. Dourmas, a thousand "THANK YOU"s!

Dr. Dourmas takes such great care of her patients. Every question I had was answered. She constantly ensured that I was not uncomfortable and actually had a great experience which is weird to say since I had to have my wisdom tooth pulled. Recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Dr. Dourmas pulled out all 4 of my wisdom teeth. She warned that one particular tooth was extremely close to a nerve which could have left me with no feeling in my jaw and explained that a few months of therapy would restore. She was so careful that not only did I not lose any feeling, recovery was so easy; no pain meds needed. Simply the best. Thank you!

I went to her and my implant failed.

The front desk staffs are incompetent, uncaring, lack communication skills and lazy. The dental services are fine, but overpriced. After I paid them upfront, they didn't do anything for about two months. I called them and my insurance company several times to finally have the office submit the claims. They charged me $100 for consultation, and $1000 for extracting 4 baby teeth. My family dentist charged me nothing to extract one baby teeth. $1100 vs $0; lots of effort vs none. What a lesson!

DR Dourmas was great on all aspects of procedure, she made me feel at ease took the time to discuss the procedure she was extremely cautious and made sure I felt no pain. Extremely kind! Took the time to go out to the waiting area to meet my wife and twin boys. Turns out our sons have the same names. She also made sure to follow up and insisted I call with any questions or the slightest discomfort. Her staff was wonderful...

Excellent experience in spite of the not so excellent reason why I had to go!!

Dr. Dourmas listened and addressed all of my concerns regarding my procedure. She was extremely patient, kind, and explained everything. She made me feel at ease, and even gave me a blanket! Who does that?! She was very gentle, followed up with a phone call, and even gave me her personal cell phone number in case I had any more questions or further concerns. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Dourmas, and would not hesitate to use her again (but hopefully I won't have to!)
