Dr. Maria Estela Escalona, MD

I absolutely hate that her name has to be on my daughters birth certificate. Or what she would call my daughter “it”. She made the experience of my first child an absolute downer. I will drive miles away in the future if needed to avoid having to deal with her cold heart and lack of enjoyment this time is presumed to be. She did not talk to my wife let alone even introduce herself confidently to a worried soon to be mother and father. nor did she ask how my wife was feeling or how her pain levels were. Forcefully tried lifting and moving my wife who is in pain shortly after she had received the epidural. I had to tell Escalona to stop so I can help my wife as she was only making matter worse. After the birth did she go on to say “well it was good that we got “it” out sooner than later” given there were some complications. Just an incredible amount of dull and miserable energy from her presence that should not be acceptable. The nurses provided had to apologize on behalf of Escalona… noticing the unprofessionalism she provided. I am warning all mothers to do their best to avoid her as we had no option and got stuck with a repugnant sad to say professional doctor. The nurses provided were amazing are the definite reason my wife had a successful birth. Thank God for them.

This lady is horrible! She doesn’t talk the time listen to your concerns about your health. I will never go back to her.

She doesnt take the time to evaluate me she just talks and sends me out she doesnt even take more than 10 min with out visit . i spend more time in the waiting room .

Currently pregnant did NOT answer any questions I had, rushed me out of the room. Very very rude worse experience i have ever had. I will make sure I never see her as a doctor again!

Our first interaction with her and she was rude and very short out of the gate. Did not care to answer questions we had concerning our baby. Made her own assumptions before asking us the appropriate questions. Very sad to have a experience like this coming close to delivering our baby. Not a good experience for a woman in pain and discomfort and concerned questions of having a healthy child. Seeing she has 1 star out of 12 reviews on the healthgrades website really tells a story.
