Dr. Maria Fleseriu, MD

Maria, has explained my condition in great detail and reviewed tests and other matters with me to my satisfaction. She has tried drugs to solve my issue but they have not produced the desired result so I'll have surgery. Maria works closely with the surgeon often on the same day in the same clinic. Good approach

She is fantastic, I travel a lot to see her each year, but she knows so much about Cushing's , it's all worth it. She is in contact with my local doctor if he has any questions, so it works for me to see her to adjust my medication.

Dr Fleseriu was very honest about what is known about my condition versus what is unknown at this time, and seemed to have a genuine interest in investigating further to find more answers. She also gave a good explanation of the possible risks and rewards for different management strategies. She also spent a significant amount of time with me in order to perform physical assessments, ask about my symptoms, review MRIs and other test results, answer questions, and give recommendations. She was professional and to the point.

Dr. Fleseriu is way better at science than at communicating with normal human beings. She took five minutes to talk with me at each appointment I've had at her office, and during that time rattled off a HUGE amount of information, rife with acronyms I wasn't familiar with, and accordingly I hardly understood a thing. Complicating the matter, I have a concussion that is noted in my medical record, and that I specifically told her staff about at my first appointment. This is making me a little slower than usual, so it's even harder to deal with all of this complex information. I have expressed concern in person, via email and over the phone that I am not understanding enough of what is going on with my care. But apparently this does not make sense to anyone in her office, as per a phone conversation this week. Prior to that, no one responded to my emails regarding this issue. I swear I'm not crazy here. Even my primary care physician is having trouble deciphering her notes about my… care. I also do not appreciate that I have been told to increase/change medications via notes in my online chart rather than in an email or by phone. I am a human being and I need to be addressed as such.

Maria leaves no stone unturned. She is thorough, straight forward, and candid. She is one of the best Endocrinologists in the country and I feel blessed to have her as my Doctor.

It is hard for me to believe it has been several weeks since my surgery to remove the tumor from my pituitary. I want to express sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr Fleseriu and her team. From the first day Dr Fleseriu met with me my wife and me felt our troubles were over. From presurgery consultation through postsurgery recovery she provided us with comfort and exemplary care .

She is a great pituitary specialist. She has been so wonderful, I want to thank her for all she did for me. There should be more doctors out there like her.

She has a tendency to talk down to people-I find that very rude, she is irritable, condescending, terrible bedside manner.

Wonderful doctor who truly values, respects, and LISTENS to her patients. Had thoroughly reviewed my medical record prior to my first appointment.She diagnosed me even though I didn't have the typical symptoms.She is very compassionate and caring.
