Dr. Maria Migdalia Fontanez, MD

She accused my son of faking seizures. He has now been diagnosed with severe medically refractory epilepsy, moderate intellectual disability and a very rare dna mutation. This woman is rude, abrasive, uncaring and dangerous. She suggested I get counseling for not being able to see that my son, who was actually having seizures, wasn’t and was faking because his older sibling had them. I wouldn’t take any living thing to her for treatment. She shouldn’t be licensed to treat children. My son could have died if I would have believed her.

I dont care if shes an adult or not but she SHOULD NOT just be rude to patients... ALL THESE 5.0 RATINGS ARE A LIE... she talks about her life and compares them to the future generations who are obviously doing more than she has probably ever done in her lifetime... in fact she tells me she is physically active everyday... i do not believe that a bit and she says irrelevant topics to my problems that she has the audacity to criticize.

Horrible, HORRIBLE doctor. Went in with my son today to talk to her about issue concerning his performance in school. We came in an hour before closing and I know it wasn’t right but that is the only available time I can bring him in. As I was explaining the issue to her, she got upset and wouldn’t let me finish explaining the situation. She even stated “you people...” to her patient. VERY RUDE! Then she argued with me when I kept trying to politely explain the issue to her. She then call another nurse in to tell her side of the story like I was there to cause trouble. And when I was trying to talk to the nurse to te her why I came in, she kept cutting me off and didn’t let me finish. VERY RUDE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! We are never going back to her ever again. Wouldn’t listen to her patient concerns or problem. We have been going to Dr. Gupta, the one before her, for years and she was a wonderful doctor. She listen to everything we had to say and was very attentive. This one, not so… much. What doctor argue with their patient? I don’t recommend anyone going to her at all.

I LOVE Dr. Maria! I have 4 kids and she understands the promptness of my appointments and she is extremely great with them. I have never been disappointed in my experience with her for 4 years now. She also has the same experience with her staff. They are AMAZING â?¡

The worst, absolute worst doctor I have ever seen and she was treating my 5 year old son! Telling me to hold him down while he is freaking out because he doesn't know what she is about to do, it was a simple swab of the mouth. I'm trying to reassure him to tell him it won't hurt and she gets bossy telling me to hold him down so I said just tell him what you are going to do, she was hiding the swab from him so he didn't know what to expect, and she can't take 2 seconds to tell him it's fine or it won't hurt. Just tells me either hold him down or go to the er. Needless to say we went to the er. The staff seemed to be on my side especially a nurse that came out to the parking lot with me to make sure I reported her to her boss, our regular Dr who was out sick that day. Also, informed me that I would not be the first to report to my son's Dr about her or the first she has treated this way! Absolutely no bedside manner, never even introduced herself, I only know who she is because I asked… the nurse for her name! Never go to this woman!!

Dr. Fontanez told me my son was faking seizures and wetting himself for attention. He suffered seizures for two years before we got the answer, he has Epilepsy. He suffered because this Dr. is incompetent and she suggested that I was seeing things in him because my older Son with Epilepsy was so seizure sick. Thankfully, I took him to another Physician when his condition worsened greatly who knew to refer us to a neurologist. I wouldn't entrust a sick turtle to this woman, certainly not a child.

Dr Maria, was the best doctor that came to Jennings, LA. She cared about her patient. I pray that God guides her back to the Jennings area, in Jesus name.
