Dr. Maria Frexes-Steed, MD

I have never had Dr. Frexes as a Doctor but I see a lot of people here talking about money and payments that have to be made for specialty services. The payments that are received by the Doctors offices does not have anything to do with the Doctor or staff trying to get money from you. That is the insurance company that you "chose" to go with. If you have a higher deductible you have to expect to pay more when you go to your doctor. Unfortunately, this issue should not be taken up with the Doctor's office; it should be taken up with the insurance companies. Would you go to work and put in your blood, sweat and tears to give good service knowing that you will not get paid? I don't understand why you think that your hospitals, doctors, nurses etc should go to work and not get paid for their services. This is how the world works you have to pay for services rendered to you. While we work in a field that is difficult and having to emotionally take care of you with no bias, we still have to… live as well. Medical services in the United States unfortunately are not cheap and in order for us to be able to continue to take care of you we must be able to afford the equipment needed to do so. If I could give you any advice, I would say to check the insurance that you have. Higher deductibles mean high out of pocket expense. Lower deductibles may have you paying a higher monthly cost but you will see lower out of pocket.

Best surgeon in Nashville. Kind, compassionate, skilled, knowledgeable, attentive to my concerns, even came in on Thanksgiving Day to check on me. My family adores her as she was so kind with them. She saved my life. Very humble.

My Dermotologist sent me to Dr Fexes after finding melanoma. Surgery was scheduled. I found Dr Fexes very knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend her for your next surgery

She violated every HiPAA law while I was there, no respect for my privacy. Touched my bare skin under my clothes with no gloves. She had me in and out and scheduled for an UNNECESSARY surgery without further testing all to milk me for money. Even after a 15 mins appointment I still owe $50 on a $400 visit. After getting a second opinion it was found I do NOT need surgery and that it would have made my symptoms worse. She was willing to cut me open for no reason! I highly recommend you get a second opinion if you choose this women! Terrible doctor.

I went to Dr. Frexes to remove a lymph node to see if it was cancerous. Before the surgery, her assistant contacted me to say that I had to pay $3,500 upfront because of my high deductible. It is a very long story, but all Dr. Frexes cared about was the money. I have seen many doctors in my life, but by far she was the worst!! Her bedside manner was horrible. Find another doctor, I wish I did, I was so vulnerable at the time and she could have cared less. At one point, she even called me looking for money. What doctor does that???

Dr. Frexes is very intelligent and experienced in her specialties. She has bright eyes, nimble hands and most importantly a loving heart for her patients. She works hard and takes great care of us even during weekends. I am blessed to have Dr. Frexes as my doctor on a critical surgery. She saved my life. ^_^

I love Dr. Frexis. She saved my life. She was kind, serious, honest, and thorough. She really cares about you and about your outcome. She was so kind to me when I had my bi-lateral mastectomy. She was so kind to my family and they all love her. She is down to earth and quick to respond if you call. She is extremely intelligent. A God send for me.

This was the second time I drove a 5-hour round trip for a genetic test, that I was assured would be covered, only to find that I had to pay for the appointment (which was a handoff vial and paper, to take to the lab, where I paid for the blood draw out of pocket). Over a month later the remote testing lab called to tell me that I would have to pay for the test--they hadn't even begun work on it! Tired of paying something for nothing, so having nothing more to do with this doctor!

Dr. Frexes has a terrible attitude, talks over you constantly, and acts like she has better things to do than tend to her patients.

Over 3 years ago I was referred to Dr. Frexes and have lived a thriving life since then. She not only restored my health through her gifted and timely surgical intervention but also surrounded herself with a team that coordinated my care. The team managed my direct and referred treatments in the fashion of a great orchestra, never off beat, always in unison with my best interest at the very center.
