Dr. Maria Victoria Hilgart, MD

Maria sent me to the emergency room for "bloodwork only" and assured me it was not an "emergency visit" and I "would not be charged emergency fees". I then received a bill for over $3000 which my insurance will only cover part of for a minor illness. This is very disappointing. In all my dealings with elmhurst they really gouge you in billing and its clear this is run by a private company who works to manipulate the insurance structure in healthcare to gain more money.

I had come in for some chest pain I’d been having throughout the day, and she immediately put me in an X-ray after checking for symptoms of a heart attack, and found I had two broken ribs. I had fallen a week earlier, and was on Tylenol for an ear infection, so I didn’t notice it. It was swift, and told me straight right away!
