Dr. Maria Lanasa

I used to see Dr. Lanasa back in Texas. The first time I saw her she was very rude: I had been bleeding for sometime and was trying to explain my symptoms to her. She kept cutting me off and saying that I didn’t have a problem. When she finally let me speak she corrected herself and told me I had PCOS. She put me on medications that caused me to react multiple times. Then we agreed to have surgery to see what was going on. Again, she told me nothing was wrong with me. But when she did the surgery she found endometriosis. She came into the room after and told me she knew I had endometriosis. I cried. And she showed no emotion. I noticed she treated me differently from the white patients. She told me I had stage two of endometriosis. Her treatment plan was as she stated: I don’t have experience dealing with endometriosis. That was it. I went home very distraught, but thankfully found an amazing doctor. She looked at my stitches and found Dr. Lanasa sewed me up wrong. Also, she… misdiagnosed me and I actually had stage four. This new doctor told me I didn’t need to have the surgery in the first place. Eventually, I did have to have a partial hysterectomy, but that way is was treated compared to Doctor Lanasa was night and day. She is fake and I wouldn’t trust her.
