Dr. Maria Jennifer Laplante, MD

Dr. Laplante tells her poor patients that she is a Dermatologist. Dr. Laplante is NOT a board certified dermatologist and is practicing dermatology although she is only board certified in family practice. Please do your research, and trust only board certified dermatologist with your skin.

I made an appt with Dr. Laplante for a sudden facial irritation. She insisted I use a few topicals with ingredients I've previously had adverse reactions to. She did not listen to me when I told her my skin is notoriously very sensitive to topical medications and they have caused me inflammation in the past. I feel as though I was not listened to at all, and she merely waited for me to finish my sentences before restating her thoughts. The topicals she prescribed (as I predicted) made my skin much worse. She did not listen to my skin history or the experience I have had with topical medication in the past. She also wanted to put me on a topical I would have to become dependent on. I went in for an infrequent facial irritation, not a chronic condition. I do not recommend Dr. Laplante for dermatology, and will not go to her for medical advice ever again. I was under the impression Dr. Laplante was a dermatologist by her online listings, but later found out her specialty is family… medicine. She is not a dermatologist.

Over the last several weeks I have been in to see her and she has listened to my ailments and has not wasted my time in trying out different remedies/tests in order to figure out what is going on with me. She has an excellent bedside manner.
