Dr. Maria Laarni Maligaya, MD

Avoid her. I saw her for my first pregnancy at 32 and I told her I was high risk. I told her I needed to see a high risk pregnancy doctor. She never sent out a referral and within 2 weeks of seeing her and waiting for that referral I was hospitalized for complications. I lost my baby girl at 17 weeks because it took me weeks to come up with the money to get the procedure done. She should not be practicing medicine. She should be ashamed as a woman to do this to other women.

Her and her staff will harass you and belittle you if you disagree with anything they want. She will then call the manager on you to kick you out of the office. Overall very rude and unethical especially with patients rights.

This doctor has no patience, is curt, and downright rude! I will NEVER recommend her to ANYONE! After leaving work early for my 3pm appointment, I get there and have to wait 2 hours! I could have worked the entire day and not have to stay late the rest of the week just to make up the time I missed just to wait for this appointment! Then when I finally see her, she has the audacity to think she is just going to rush me through my appointment and give me just 4 minutes! Doesn't even give me time to ask my questions I waited a whole month to ask her! She doesn't even help my 7 month pregnant self off the exam table!!! I had to quickly clean up and run to follow her to her office just to get my questions answered. She was RUDE and spoke condescendingly towards me as if I was not hearing her answer. Standing in her doorway to her office the whole time! Hello, you did not answer my question, you just stated what you wanted me to hear. That is not how this works!!! I will never recommend this… doctor. She is RUDE!!! If you like this kind of service, by all means keep this doctor, if you feel you or your loved ones deserve better, steer clear, she is completely and utterly horrible!!!!

1. She is very rude and condescending I think it’s crazy that after a surgery she has performed I couldn’t even get ahold of her personally 2. Her staff was rude and very incompetent 3. I was in pain I vocalized my concerns about excessive bleeding after surgery YET NOT ONE CALL BACK I went to her office to see her personally where her staff told me she wasn’t in and that there wasn’t anything she could do ... and for me to go to another facility Who wasn’t southwest medical associates to get sceen !! I’m very disappointed and highly offended at such service .. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER AT ALL !

She makes you wait for over a hour but if you late, even 5 minutes she won’t see you. Then my csection scar wouldn’t heal, so I have a ugly scar. Don’t see her!

Dr. Maligaya was rude, uncaring & condescending. At one point she actually laughed at me and my assuming she was going to perform an ultrasound during this appointment. I had a list of concerns I needed to go over with her about my pregnancy and the pain I was in, to which she was completely impatient with & basically told me I was sh** out of luck. I am 38 years old and at one point during the appointment it sounded like she actually implied that I am too old to be having a baby. Her statement was something along the lines of 'Pregnancy is for younger women. ' By the end of the appointment I was in tears sobbing and had to go outside where my husband was trying to calm me down to a point where I could speak again. Worst experience I have ever had with a Doctor in my entire life! I am leaving Southwest Medical & Associates because of this Doctor.
