Dr. Maria Margarita Murphy, MD

Dr Murphy is one of the worsts doctors I've ever seen! I waited an hour and fifteen minutes after my appointment time to see her. She has no bedside manner, is very condescending and doesn't seem to care about her patient's. I was also not given the privacy to remove my clothes before the exam with her and her aide both in the room. This was an embarrassing awful experience. I would not go back to her.

She does not care about her patients and puts false information in your chart. Look for another physician, because she is terrible.

I was having diverticulitis flare ups every other month and wound up in the emergency room and held in the hospital for a few days. Dr. Murphy came highly recommended to resolve my issue and did so ten fold! I was extremely nervous about having surgery, as you can imagine, but 100% needed it to avoid emergency surgery at any moment. Dr Murphy eased my mind throughout the process and completed the surgery with zero complications. I was out of the hospital in 2 days and feel like I'm 20 years old again!!! Truly remarkable. Thank you Dr. Maria Margarita Murphy!!!

Dr. Margarita Murphy, her PA's and office staff are an excellent, caring group. She has been my gastro-colorectal physician since 2009. She has performed colonoscopies and 2 surgeries after giving caring informative advisement. She takes her time to answer all of your questions. Her facility of choice is East Cooper Medical Center which has delivered excellent service during late night diverticulitis flare ups and my most recent 5 day inpatient stay after she performed a laparoscopic lower anterior resection. I highly recommend Dr Margarita Murphy and Dr Brendan Murphy and all of their caring staff.

Just finished up my last follow up from grade 4 Hemorrhoidectomy. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Dr Murphy was very professional and easy to understand and explained everything. She told me what to expect post opp and she was 100% correct. I followed her instructions and took the prescribed medications as directed. The first week was uncomfortable as expected but each day got a little better. Full recovery took about 6 weeks but could have gone back to work after 2 weeks. I suffered for 5 years and I am very happy I made the decision to have the surgery. Dr Murphy and her staff was excellent. Should have done it years ago. Thank You !

Outstanding doctor, has,performed implant for bowel incontinence. Excellent staff. Wholeheartedly recommend. She is the best!

I do not like writing reviews, but I sincerely hope my feedback is taken seriously by Dr. Murphy and a future patient does not have to experience anything like this in the future. Dr. Maria Murphy has horrible bedside manner, she is condescending and lacks compassion. Once her mind is made up about your care, your thoughts or desires for treatment do not matter. Moreover, what I did not appreciate most was not being given the privacy to remove my under clothing prior to her “inspection” and then a moment to re-robe following what was a completely traumatic disrobing and exam. Dr. Murphy was the absolute worst experience with a physician I have ever experienced. Dr. Murphy is the “expert” in the room, which is wonderful, however, one would expect to be the “expert” of their own body and feelings, but that is not the case with Dr. Murphy, as she seems to know best, even when it comes to one’s personal convictions. I would rather meet with a person in an alley claiming to be a… physician than ever see Dr. Murphy again.

Awesome Physician and staff

Dr. Murphy and her staff do NOT give accurate information about the procedures they are proposing to perform. They underplay the seriousness and extent of the procedure. They do not take into account the patients other health conditions. They do a "big sale" without regard to what is best for the patient.

I cannot thank Dr. B Murphy enough. I had surgery on a Sunday! Dr. B Murphy and staff were very compassionate and carrying. (I had just found out my mother had passed 3 hours before surgery) they were great.
