Dr. Maria Joy Nelson, MD

If I could give her a -zero rating I would. I will try to be nice as possible and under the circumstances this won't be easy. 1. She was the only md on duty in ER. . .why? 2. I was brought in by ambulance with severe spontaneous bloody nose that wouldn't quit bleeding. Note: I was expecting a nose pack containing a blood clotting factor. 3. She gave me a ' nose balloon' blew it up, didn't work; did it again, didn't work; took it out put in 'longer' one; by this time I was in such immense pain from the trauma I was scream/crying; trying to be quite. 4. I asked several times for another doctor as they were short handed. I asked her to quit many times, her response 'give it a chance'. Doctors are suppose to know what their doing, right? So I did give it a chance until the next day. I had it removed by a doctor in the same ER, which is another story to tell. 5. Her treatment of me and her actions are inexcusable. She proved she could be nice. For when I called a friend and he was in the… room her bad attitude changed. The magnitude of the pain and trauma she caused me will hopefully subside one day soon and she will learn from this review that her 'bedside manner' does matter and there are other ways to accomplish the same goal.
