Dr. Maria Cristina Pantaleon, MD

I saw Dr. Pantaleone for several years regarding routine care. She was, generally speaking, courteous and professional. There were times, though, when you could tell she was in a very bad mood indeed - and beware if you had the misfortune to have an appointment with her on that day. On those days, she would not listen to questions, nor even allow me to finish a sentence. It would be all smart-ass remarks and I'm-a-doctor-and-you-aren't, and it was intended to shut the patient right up so she could do her thing and then move on to the next highly-billed victim. I tolerated it in that at times she could be very helpful and personable, and nothing major was at stake. Where I drew the line, was when I was diagnosed with a major issue. I suppose I had the bad luck to walk in on another one of her bad days, but this visit was worse than any before it. She brushed aside all my prepared questions regarding the issue, ridiculed me, and basically told me to shut up and follow her treatment… protocol. That was the end of that relationship. In short: she was fine as a doctor for the sniffles. For major issues, I highly recommend finding someone else.

Thank you for being a great Doctor to my Family and my self. You have gone above and beyond for us and are always ready to help and fit us in. It is sad that only the people that don't get there way leave bad reviews.

I became Dr. Pantaleon's patient partly through high ratings on here. Within two months time I had surgery for a large ovarian mass, leading to a complete hysterectomy (including ovaries, everything), while also finding out I had breast cancer-immediately undergoing lumpectomy surgery. Needless to say, being thrown into surgical menopause, tests, recovering, specialists-I was stressed-mostly because my body was in shock. This woman is one of the most cold-hearted people I have ever met! She walked out on on me, apparently having a bad day, in no mood to be compassionate. The second time she walked out on me (while I was answering her questions about my severe anxiety & menopause-induced insomnia-the reason for visit) she tells me abruptly that I need to find another Dr.! As God as witness, please do yourself a favor and stay far away! Especially if you NEED a compassionate, problem solver, whom you can talk freely with. She will kick you harder if you are down for legitimate medical… reasons.

Im new to the area and was referred to Dr Pantaleon by a family friend. Upon entering the building I was taken aback by the outdated waiting area and lack of enthusiasm displayed by the front desk receptionists (there seemed to be 4???). Not ONE of them smiled nor greeted me upon me approaching the counter. In fact, they all seemed to be annoyed. After I was given a set of paperwork to fill out, I was shoed away where I waited FOR OVER AN HOUR, with acknowledgment or explanation, at this point I had to leave. When I informed the young lady up front I had a prior engagement that I couldn't be late for, she very snidely reiterated that this was practice policy and I was more than welcomed to leave... So I left, but not before I over heard them snickering and giggling at the fact that "another one had bitten the dust"... Although Dr Pantaleon has such great reviews online,her staff's behavior greatly overshadowed, and for this, I rate the practice a zero.. I was told by another patient… while waiting that the Palm Harbor location is the top preference to schedule, however CLEARWATER was a safer commute for me.. BIG MISTAKE

I have been disabled since 1989 due to a chronic condition with both of my legs. Every doctor I had seen said this was something I had to live with. Then I started seeing Dr. Pantaleon. Since the time I've under her care my wife and I started seeing improvement. The ulcers on my legs started healing my diabetes started getting in control over all health started improving. Today I am happy to say I am no longer on disability but have actually return to work. Instead of giving up on my health problems like the other doctors Dr. Pantaleon continued treating my condition not never giving up. If it wasn't for Dr Pantaleon I would still be on disability not never working again and not be able to lead a normal life. THANK YOU DR. PANTALEON FOR NOT GIVING UP ON ME.YOU'RE THE GREATEST A REAL GOD SEND. I TELL EVERYONE DR P IS MY MECHANIC WHEN MY BODY BREAKS SHE IS ALWAYS THERE TO PUT ME BACK TOGETHER. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. The 1 star is not for Dr Pantaleon, it is for the office staff. As a new patient I went to the office as instructed 1/2 hr early, then waited another 45 mins. If a person has nothing to do all day, this waiting would be fine, but I took time away from work. I had inquired twice at the desk if the doctor was running behind, I was informed "No", I was going to reschedule, but why, if this is how they do business? After 45 mins I asked again, I made the woman go see the medical assistant to find out how long it would be. The medical assistant showed up at the front desk and was asked to bring me back. The medical assistant said exasperatedly "I am". I went to sit back down, 2 more minutes passed, nothing. I walked out. Being a medical professional myself, this is inexcusable.

Had a yearly check up and was impressed with her thoroughness.

Excellent Doctor

I have been with Dr. Pantaleon for over 17yrs, I will do what I have to do to stay with her, she is the absolute best. Very caring, considerate and excellent bedside manner. She is always correct with her diagnosis, I trust her completely. She has helped me grow gracefully through the years. If anyone is looking for a fantastic doctor, you will never be disappointed in Dr. Pantaleon.

I have had serious medical conditions and her diagnostic skills were spot on and I felt I had the best of care. Other specialists have told me she is a great diagnostician so I feel blessed to have her as my primary doctor. She follows up with me on a consistent basis and always has a hold of my situation.
