Dr. Maria L. Pinzon
Dr. Maria Pinzon is originally from Bogota, Colombia. She received her dental degree from Bogota's Universidad Javeriana in 1981 and her Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985. She had a private orthodontics practice in Bogota, Colombia for 13 years.
In 1998, she moved to Ann Arbor where she became an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan. She joined her private practice in Ann Arbor in 2002 and continued part-time teaching both at the U of M and at the Charles H. Tweed Foundation for Orthodontic Research in Tucson, Arizona, where she became the first woman instructor from the United States.
Dr. Pinzon is a member of various state, national, and international orthodontic associations. She recently completed the certification process to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, one of the highest clinical qualifications in the orthodontic …specialty.
She resides in Ann Arbor with her husband Philip Warren, also an orthodontist, her two sons, Ricky and Paulo, and her dog Onyx. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, playing golf, cooking, and entertaining friends.
